BRONZE MemberI wonder, please, if anyone recognises the B&O 1700 system stand shown in the picture. The System 1700 was current in the early 1980s, and mine comprises the Beomaster 1700, Beogram 1700 and Beocord 1700, the latter now replaced with a CDX. Some time ago I asked the local dealer if they had a second-hand matching system cabinet SC17. They didn’t, but they did have this stand, which consists of three plastic-faced boards set into a brushed aluminium frame. It’s obviously designed for the 1700 system as it is exactly the right width for the Beomaster and Beocord placed side by side, and supports the three units on projecting brackets of the correct length, with longer ones for the Beogram, that clip over the top of the boards. However, it does not have a B&O badge, and I can’t see any reference to it in catalogues of that era, although I don’t have all of them. I’d be very interested to know if this is an official B&O part, or if it perhaps came from some aftermarket supplier. I suppose a possibility is that it could have been intended as a shop display stand for that system. Does anyone please have any idea?
