Issues with the Beosound 5 Encore
4 replies
Hi everyone,
I received a Beosound 5 Encore and am having some trouble getting it to work. I hope you have any idea what might be wrong with the device.
1. In the main “Mode” menu, only Radio, A.Aux, and Settings are displayed—no N.Music, even when I plug in a USB drive.
2. Network settings: DHCP enabled / Network Connection: Yes / IP address is present
3. Roles: N.Music
4. Under Maintenance -> About -> Cryotec 1.0.0 - Software Update -> no new software
The Encore doesn’t detect a USB flash drive and apparently can’t connect to the Beomaster 5 (Service Settings - Music Storage).
When I select a radio station, the radio name flashes and no logos appear.
I’ve already performed a reboot and a factory reset, but unfortunately without success.
Is there a way to reinstall the software or get the system up and running some other way? I’d appreciate any advice.
Thank you
About the USB-drive. I've had some trouble with it and after using a 16 GB USB-drive Sandisk Cruser Blade it works.
Using Kingston 64 GB USB ditn't work. It wasn't reading it. Even after a factory reset.
An other problem is. When you add new music to the USB-drive it will not recognise the new added music until I reset the Encore to factoryreset.
Hi Jan,
thank you for your response. I now tried an old "no name" USB stick which is working. Funny, but the three different USB which I tried first didn't work.
My main problem is now, that the Radio Stations don't work. They only blink with no logo and there is no sound. I read that this can happen if the Beosound Encore couldn't find the station on the "old" URL but I have no idea how to fix it. Even popular stations don't work. On my other Beosound 5 I do have no problems, every station is working.
Any ideas what the problem could be? Hardware, Software? Thx
Strange.
After a factory reset I am having now the same problem again. No radio anymore. And no update. I have changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and still not working. I think that the B&O server is down and not working.
Any suggestions?
