  • Re: Connecting an external amplifier to the BeoLab Penta 3

I'm not sure if i can answer your technical questions but until fairly recently i was using a pair of Beovox Penta's with a Sonos ZP100 amplifier (i've no idea what the impedence or output is!) I had my doubts that it would be able to drive the speakers properly but it was absolutely fine and i didn't notice much of a difference between it and my Beomaster 5500 which i think is the correct receiver for that period. I don't get a chance to listen loudly anyway as we have young

Stuart - you might want to consider this while you wait for a 4500 - it is a similar style to your dream system Beocenter 9300 for £150 locally (Glasgow) - looks in good condition from the photos. The seller also has CX100 speakers for £200 which look as though they have recently been refoamed which is an added bonus. https://www.gumtree.com/p/stereo-systems/bang-and-olufsen-/1364180381 https://www.gumtree.com/p/speakers/bang-and-olufsen-/1364180056

just to add on values, i would say if you were buying separately then £200 would be a good price for a BM4500, £100-150 for the CD player and less than £100 for the tape. £35-45 for the Beolink 1000 remote. the most expensive component is the Beogram record player which are closer to £400 if you can find one. of course if you find a local seller with a complete set for a lot cheaper then snap it up quick!

Hi Stuart, I'm also in Ayrshire (it's a small world!) so i can certainly advise on this one. All of the classic B&O equipment i have owned has come from either eBay or Gumtree. Facebook marketplace is a thing now but i don't have an account for that. The best thing for you to do would be to set up an automatic notification if there is new listing matching "B&O", "Bang Olufsen" (or similar) within a 50mile radius of your location. As Ayrshire has quite a few

  • Re: Beolab 8000 fret fitment

Morning Bill, thanks very much for your reply. I was pushing them on from the front rather than pulling from behind and that made the difference. i could hear a click as the clip aligned and the alignment does seem to be better now.

  • Beolab 8000 fret fitment

hi everyone. I bought a pair of BL8000 mk2's which came with brand new frets fitted prior to being dispatched. When i unpacked them it looked as though they had been knocked out of alignment during transit despite being very well packaged (both speakers were the same) and i had to try and push them back into place once i'd set them up. Now when i look at the speaker from side on the fret doesn't appear to line up properly with the aluminium body of the speaker. hopefully the attached

  • Re: Beovox Cona and Beovox Redline 7000/140 a good combination

Hi Chris, I tried some RL6000s with a Cona and I didn’t think it made much difference at all. This was connected to a Beocenter 8500 and Loudness was on. Speakers were wall mounted.

  • Re: the reputation of B&O amps like the 5000,5500,6500 and 7000?

I don't know if this helps you at all but i had noticed that on my Beomaster 5500 that i had to turn up the volume to the high 30's in order to listen to the Aux source at a normal level. It turned out that i had connected my airport express to the Tape 2 RCA Output by accident instead of the Aux input. when i switched the cables around it resolved the issue. It is quite easy to get them mixed up as the diagram with the input and output labels is upside down when viewing from the front of
