  • Re: M75crossover diagram _

Listening result truely AMAZING ! before crossoover refresh, I could hear how the filter breaking points had drifted away abit, there were holes in the frequence perspetive and slight combfilter effects. Now after recap, details, precision, like a completly new speaker. They sound like something 2500-3000 euros downtown the audphile stores I am blown away .....................

  • Re: Fantasy scenario> Bang Olufsen VR Vintage Remake

I realize that due to design and what people write here about Beolite 39, yes form a market point of view, that would be a smart remake. but Peter, if we wouldnt care about what it nisch or not...Beogram 4000 or Beocord 1800 ?,that would be your personal choice. Can agree about beogram 4000, there is something special about it, early, tangtial arm, the smooth narrow design and the wide metal buttons, such a nice result of design . I just love the old culture that recording and playback reel to reel

Filter after. Yes I chose simple electrolytes. I always feel that tweeters get a bit tired by age,so I did a slight modification to the crossover. R4 that was limiting both tweeters, got an parallel equal value,4,7 Ohm, which gives a little bit more energy to them And I shortcut R5 which most likely function as a safety circuit, to give another dB to the highest tweeter . So from one perspective, a slight tweeks that, from my personal opinion , gives back the tweeters the energy closer to orginal

Ahhh they were 20% tolerans at that time!!!. thanks Søren Then I will deffinetly go with the ordinary cheap caps, it was partly the tolerance I was thinking of, particulary when crossover frequences are more tight on a 4 way speaker. We have a since 40 year a shop downtown Stockholm which sell speaker parts, do repaiments, aso ., the carry 14 different caps types for speaker crossover on the shelf. heading there with in a couple of hours

  • Re: P50 either way

Orava, at least one of the woofers are stuck, mean means the cone wont move when I touch it. the other ones, give fractions of sound, and come a litle bit more alive when I press the cone, which should be burnt coil ? I do have repaired tons of equipments in my days, but actually element repariment, is quite new to me. ( I change a paper cone with integrated coil, in a forest, in the middle of the night, on a a tour some 25 years ago,but thats all my experiences of dealing with the actually element

  • Fantasy scenario> Bang Olufsen VR Vintage Remake

If B&O one day, in a fantasty scenario, would remake one vintage product, what would be your choice, and motivy why. For me,I think, Beocord 2400 reel tape recorder, reason: 1. The fantastic audio quality that recording and playback the 1/4 media provide. 2. The culture of prioritating time in life for what you would record and spend time to turn the 4 track tape 3. It was a super-great machine It will be very interesting to see what peoples choices would be, if there would be some common dominiator
  • P50 either way

As part of a package I picked up a pair of P50 the other week which has blown woofers. They are no high priority for me at the moment. One way would be to be patient and look for new woofers, but I have a feeling it might be a hard job findning these guys. The other way would be to actually sell the midrange and tweeters for somebody desperate needing them for a pair of broken P50. Hard choice, opinions ?

  • Re: M75crossover diagram _

have just opened the box, for a quick look at the crossover board. what a beautiful board !, all components in straights lines. Cant verify all component without removing them, not my way of work. I will buy from the component list, and then start replacing/verifying them one by one, even if it willmean a second visit to the shop . Thought I should be a little fancy on these beauties and buy Jantzen caps. Hmmm, guess some audiophiles would puke seing the overload section. ( hope I dont start sensitive

Congrats to have a 4401, Peter. The 4401 seem to be more or less impossible to get hold of, at least in Sweden. I have enough of stiimulating workbench projects to start now at the moment, doing list of caps to buy, for my speakers, many belts ordered, and then more work with the radio in my 7700, after help from here, then learing how to adjust the turntable mechanism in 7000. Lots to look forward to
