  • Re: Essence MKII vs Core

Martin, Thank you for your reply. I have had a few B&O techs out to the house but they are often as mystified as I am. I am hoping that getting rid of the 'phantom' zone will solve the problem - as the greatest stability seemed to be before it appeared. Do you know where the 'zone list' is saved? Is it saved on every single device and then tries to replicate itself around to all other devices? Is that what checking and unchecking 'beolink' does - "clear the cache"

  • Essence MKII vs Core

I have a multilane house with 8 Essene MK II (and 5 all in one speakers A9, M5, etc...) Two Avant NG with Essence as well. I have never been able to get the system really stable. Constant problems. 3 times out of 5 Music "Can't be added to this playlist". Reboot sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't. BeoTool shows a 'phantom zone' (2 zones named Living Room, 1 is live, the other is an old setup) that is impossible to delete. Also the only way to play music on the TV's is

  • Re: Essence MKII vs Core

All the network is Meraki. Nothing has really changed on the networking side (besides various firmware updates from Meraki that I am not sure what they do..) Good idea to try and run all the wired zones (only 3 non wired zones) and see what happens. Back to the core questions - does anyone know if the core is different than the Essence MKII or is is just a different form factor running the identical software?

The only issue with Airplay II is that it won't turn the TV's on, and as the main living room system is a Avant with speakers it sort of defeats the purpose. Otherwise your idea is one I have considered (I have also considered just running Roon - which is very good and can use the Essences as either chormecast or airplay 2 endpoints)

  • Re: Beolab 5 issue

Dear Lawrence, I had the EXACT same issue with a brand new pair of lab 5 that I purchased back in 2007. I tried to get the B&O store where I purchased them to repair them under warranty several times but finally gave up because they were so rubbish at customer service. Upon moving to a new house last year, I contacted B&O UK and to their credit once managed to get to a person of authority they took responsibility and eventually got them to repair the problem. Unfortunately (for your) this

  • Re: Beosound2 leaving stain on oak furniture

I had a similar problem. To solve it you need to understand what the oak furniture is treated with. If it is treated with a petrochemical based oil - this is usually matt (i.e. danish oil, or mineral oil) then another coat of oil will usually solve it. If it is treated with a high gloss varnish then what has often happened is that moisture has been caught under the varnish. Very strangely I have solved this by putting mayonnaise on the stain - this pulls out the moisture that is trapped underneath

  • Re: BeoLab 50 + 90 support now in beta

Would also love the ability to swap out the essence icons with the speakers or TV they are actually attached to. Have a home page full of little circles doesn’t look that sexy and harder to scan what is what p

  • Re: BeoMusic app is merging with Bang & Olufsen app

It might already be on your to do list but it would be great to be able to change the icon shown when the output is an essence. An A6 shows up as a nice A6 icon, a Beosound 2 shows up as a nice little tower, but all of my Essence Zones show up as boxes making it difficult to understand which zone is playing / being controlled. Again than you for investing in this app. I hope your team is given all the resources it needs. In my opinion the success of the whole company hinges on the app being fast
