• Re: H8 - Factory Certified : Feedback Please

I had an early pair of H8 with lots of problems with dropouts and at times a hum in one ear. The replacement set were factory reconditioned with some minor cosmetic blemishes. They are definately better - no hum and dropouts are much fewer. Having nnot had the opportunity to try the '2nd Gen' versions I cannot say wheter there is any difference. I have kept the replacement pair (which implies they are OK) but the way this was handled (original packaging not returned and replacements previously

  • Re: How do you feel about B&O right now?

I wonder what B&O feel about me (or any other customer)? I have owned B&O audio and TV since the early 1980's and still use my Beovision 10, Beolab 6000, Beosound 3200, Beosound 1, Beosound 3) daily. Most of these of course are older products. when looking at updating / replacing them I feel that b&O have been offering me a range of solutions to connectivity problems i don't have and when investigating further find it difficult to see wha the premium pricing offers above similar

  • Amazon Prime Day Weds 12 July

This may be UK only but for today Amazon Prime has some significant reductions on H2 (£79), H6 (£149), H7 (£209), A2 (£159) and Beolit 15 (£229). You will need to sign up for Prime but I would imagine you can cancel before the end of the month free trial.

  • Re: Beoplay H8

Having used my replacement pair they are much better from a BT point of view - much more stable and almostt no dropouts. The high pitched noise from the ANC has gone although a squeal can be provoked by touchng the centre of the speaker when the ANC is switched on. I doubt that replacing faulty headphone with reconditioned is illegal but it has not made me feel that B&O have any great commitment to me as a customer. The fact that they might send a new pair if you show great persistence does't

No - as I indicated a few posts earlier the S/N indicates this pair is earlier than the hardware update. A quick test in the office suggests that they are an improvement both in terms of BT droputs and high pitched noise with ANC. So it is possible the refurbishment has included replacing the original hardware with the revised version. I will reserve judgement until I have had the chance to use them for longer and done so outdoors. I will post an update when I have done so.

The replacements have arrived via UPS. Positives: Arrived quickly - 8 days from me sending them off. They came with a complete set of extras - cables, pouch, aircraft adapter (I had kept mine being unsure of what might be returned). Fresh 2 year warranty starting today. On very quick testing in the office droputs are fewer (but can still be provoked) and no high pitched noise with ANC. I will go out for a walk with them later and get some idea over a longer time in more challenging conditions. Negatives

  • Re: Beoplay H8

I have just been notified that a fault was found with my H8s and I am being sent a 'factory certified' replacement from Germany. The serial number is earlier than the cut off for the improved Bluetooth hardware so I will wait with interest to see if these are an improvement. One positive is that the 2 year warranty will start again from the delivery date.
I don't understand why a high end / premium company would have a third party company for faulty products etc. Why is this? A refund is the best way and stay well away from the H8. Is the H7 is more reliable option?
The reason is to save money. B&O have outsourced all of their repair work in the UK (warranty and out of warranty). B&O no longer have responsibility for overheads and employing staff etc. The quality of the work has suffered (based

@Mikael, I presume you handled your RMA also via B&O in Germany? Any tips? :)
No, I live in Sweden (but I'm actually half German!). My retailer swapped them out for a new pair, no questions asked.
In the UK the dealers have been told that they cannot exchange B&O Play products (not sure if what happens if they were bought from the dealer) - they all have to go to b&O Play. My faulty H8s have arrived
