  • Re: Best UK dealer discount?

Having just bought a new TV , I received an e-mail from the dealer "Experience Bang & Olufsen sound and walk away with exclusive savings At Bang & Olufsen we have shared a passion for sound since 1925. Perfecting techniques that reproduce audio as close to its original form as possible. Our loudspeakers are designed to transform a room, allowing you to immerse into the music the moment you press ’play’. We are very proud of our loudspeakers and naturally want our customers

  • Re: Best UK dealer discount?

The dealer told me when I first enquired at launch of the V1 that the margin was18% "unlike B&O normal rate as if to say " don't expect a discount" this post reminds me of the ones on the Alfa forum where people expect to get Vauxhall level of discounts and both Alfa and B&O have appeal beyond price! Alfa are avoiding oversupply so they don't get massive depreciation.

  • Re: I miss David Lewis...

This is quite amusing as the thread echoes one on the Alfa Romeo forum criticising the latest Alfa ,the Giulietta for not being like the old "real" Alfas. i recently bought both a Giulietta and a beoplay V1 . The latter is ,for me, a return to the subtle architecture which drew me to buy an MX before it. It looks like a part of the house as opposed to something showy. I did not want piano black and chrome casings from Samsung or Sony and the matt finished metal of the V1 gives us this,

  • Tyco Bluetooth receiver

I was looking through the installation of our new V1 and found a Tyco connectivity receiver not connected to anything . I presume this belongs to the TV and connects to iPod and IPad ? (The dealers installer did not tell my wife about it.) oh and as owners of previous b&o , we love the beoplay as its a return to the MX level of non flashy Bang and Olufsen.

  • Re: Incorporating beautiful design in the era of digital music

A "TV"where the only bit visible is the screen, with no obtrusive frame. The Screen should be a translucent plate which only becomes visible when necessary . Otherwise it shows a picture of the wall behind it . It would be totally convergent. That would be a b&o product as I understood them; a part of the house and not a showy bit of jewellery .

  • Re: Upgrade to Beoplay V1 from Beovision 8-40

My personal experience is owning a V1 rather than pictures of it and ,with the wall bracket , its certainly admired by everybody who sees it. Ours is the white version and whilst I thought I was going to miss the motorised stand I don't. No shiny "piano black" plastic , just metal with a metal bar handle at one end echoing the hinge bar at the other end.

  • Re: This weeks Apprentice

It's like the Alfa Giulietta on the BBC drama "Frankie". where they changed the locking remote noise and the Blue and Me Bluetooth is not used as it does not fit in the story. https://www.cloverleafclub.co.uk/News/Alfa-in-the-news/Alfa-Giulietta-stars-in-hit-BBC-drama,-Frankie.aspx

  • Re: B&O marketing

I think the explanation is quite appropriate as its all part of justifying the cost. The beoplay product is premium priced both for its performance and its craftsmanship . A car body side has more press stages for deeper draw and greater definition of form in the metal. The speaker grille could be fabric or a constant sheet of perforated metal, but it's not . Why not tell people ? Also, I seem to remember rumours of a cost saved mk.2 model mentioned on here.

  • Re: How do children influence your B&O buying?

My children have been taught to appreciate the beo stuff and they are looking forward to teaching me about the Beotime when it arrives! I do worry about the screen coating if they play the wii with friends now that everybody tries the Apple screen pinch-to-zoom.

  • Re: BeoPad

I fear the product would be equivalent to an optional sat nav in your car which is ten times the price and inferior to a separate Tomtom . An iPad is a platform for the control interface. Perhaps a bang and olufsen case for an iPad would be the optimum solution ? I never use the B&O controller app on the iPad as the beo4 is better anyway.
