Im thinking of acquiring a BV11 to add to my avant 55 May I ask the type numbers and best version to go for, I assume the VE fault is still an issue as per avant?

  • Re: B&O Technicians help sought: BeoVision Avant 55 MK1

My understanding is that the screen in the avant is Samsung not LG, It seems from my owning experience that the main board lasts for 5 years before it packs up ( five years to the day in my case. There are a few issues though; the main board also contains the chip ( which is programmed by B&O at the repair centre) for PIN control matched to serial number of the product. So hope of finding a donor board from a samsung TV is out! The engineer to came out to replace mine inidcated that extra heat

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

Not wishing to rain on anyone's parade here! I have gone through these purchasing decisions. The biggest change I noticed was in sound quality moving from beosystem 3 to beo4 based systems- not many mention this- it was a huge improvement. The picture of BV4in ( d9 panel upwards) was excellent ( only with BS3 - not the early avant chassis) but that was 15 years ago and more. Despite the failings of LCD i found the Avant to offer in most situations a better picture by far than the rather grainy

  • Re: LG Compatibility

I went through this dilema some time ago, in the end decided to sell for the following reasons. Beo system 3 cant do 4K and it 'processing abilities did nothing to improve the picture , secondly , the iggest difference is in sound from beosystem 4bases systems- that was the biggest surprise to me Thirdly, maybe you love the frame of the BV4 but why take a slim OLED panel and put it in a product that is super large and cumbersome by todays standards

  • Re: New Google TV remote with beovision 10

Button mapper is a sideloaded application for google TV!! It gives you a picture of the google TV remote and how to map each button for a specific purpose, So you can rename the 'netflix button for example https://www.howtogeek.com/693763/how-to-remap-buttons-on-the-chromecast-with-google-tv-remote/ It works on my device perfectly controlling an Avant 55 and google TV with chromecast. Make sure you update the google TV ( a software upgrade came last week, please alsonote the upgrade for the remote
