• Re: I've gone wired not WISA with my BL18/19s

BL20 connected via WISA to Avant 55, when setting a speaker group which turned OFF the BL20 and just using the internal speakers, the logo on bl20 would stay lit, even though there was no sound - other than a very faint hiss. Ive just wired them, now, when selecting TV speakers only no illuminated bl20 logo which is how it should be. There is not supposed to be a difference in sound ..... but.i think it sounds fuller

  • Re: BeoVision Avant 55 or BV 7-55

Firsly , I have the Avant 55 v1 and can attest to its vdieo engine issue, which was fixed under warranty but would normally costs about 1K to fix. The HDMI issue was sorted in an update so that one socket will handle 4K, and i use outside boxes to stream the content. Very pleased with it. The BV7 55 im sure has a good picture , but those big bezels place it as a TV design for the early part of year 2000 and it looks hopelessly big and dated in my view.

  • Re: Can you recommend a 4K Blu-ray player?

Interesting, its just the reason why i have waited to change the Avant, ok the picture is not great in 4K but with additional speakers the sound is so good. I have come to the conclusion that i will have to accept downgraded video for enhanced audio as i am not prepared to pay for the eclipse sound centre v2 as that seems an ill thought out mess and I cant get myself to part with a 3 year old panel for the eclipse- plus the fact I dont like the style of it. Horizon makes a big TV look HUGE

  • Re: Beovision Avant 55 mk1 screen fault

Whilst OLED is an improvement ( not 10 x better) over a good LCD, thats only hugely evident if one is watching 4K, when it comes to lower resolutions that advantage evaporates. It seems panel reliability ( on AV forums and others) is far from good, and other tecnologies will gove OLED quality without the heartaches. lets see how B&O treat the early eclipse customer with a panel problem- rinse and repeat on each generation of product im afraid The 'way forward' is to sell LG technology

  • Re: BeoSound Stage supports LG GX tv's as well as CX ?
And what it looks like ....
What is that awful piece of plastic hanging down below the speaker, If this is the version 2 could B&Onoit even be bothered to remove that abhorrence

  • Re: Beovision Avant 55 mk1 screen fault

its actually the largest board in the TV, cost about £1100 in the UK, seems they last about 5 years and then pack up, in my case the images showed a green outline on edges This is the problem with B&O, and will be the same for owners or the eclipse when the panels pack up
