• Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE
Good overview of specs at the bottom of this article with regional pricing: http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id= 1504086345
Key takeaway from the article: " The company no longer has an in-house video development team" time will tell if this is a good thing or not...
This confirms it: HDMI IN 1 & 3* The High Definition Multimedia Interface allows you to connect many different sources, such as set-top boxes, multimedia players, Blu-ray players, or a PC. To operate non-Bang & Olufsen products with your Bang & Olufsen remote control and for optimum sound quality it is recommended to connect products to the HDMI sockets on the SoundCenter. *HDMI 2 reserved for SoundCenter communication. I think the SoundCentre only uses
Now two days from release I wonder more about the specs than the design. Powerlink? Or only WISA? PUC control? HDMI Matrix and room sharing HDMI-solution? Movable stand? Gamma correction? And so on. Does anybody know?
Matrix support via update in Q4.
Yeah, I suspect there might be some hard-core gamers for whom 2.1 might be an issue, but for the rest of us, I wouldn't stress. As for swapping the panel in the future, interesting question, though my gut instinct says pretty unlikely. Not sure where that previous comment came from. But of course would be a great option to have
Another little bird told me that the internal order from the dealer to B&O actually includes two items: the screen and the
I wonder, what do other members consider would be an appropriate and fair price for the new Eclipse (both sizes) and a motorised stand? Where do you see the TV in the current line up, at the top or under another? Curious...
My dealer priced the 55 + Remote + Floor stand at 10500 CHF which is 500 more than the Avant. That's before a discount, we did not discuss yet (with no discount I'm buying in Italy and import the TV myself... it will be cheaper

In your previous post you wrote: ' T he TV hasn't been officially launched, we're not supposed to know what it looks like, yet some people know detailed costs and even things like price changes between speaker grilles! '
Correct - but there's a difference between dealers giving out some snippets of info and allowing customers to place pre-orders, choosing between types of speaker grille. That implies
I guess people are not conditioned, just very well informed in the Internet age. That's why it is impossible to charge some insane markup even to the ones who have plenty of money to spend. Not because they can't, but because it insults their intellect. I guess B&O still needs to accept that new reality.
You nailed it. Less people buy B&O "just because it's B&O". While the design might be timeless, the internals aren't
"relatively light" : do you thing the contrast screen in glass is actually mandatory for a beovision ? the glass weights a lot.
The wall support is attached to the soundbar, not the screen. That tells a lot about the low weight of the TV compared to previous models. The sound is supposed to be fantastic, better than the Avant or any other soundbars on the market. One week left!

What i understand that the speaker of the eclipse will attach/clip under the bottom of the tv and yes a sort of bv7 finnish/look.
So, more of an "e-clips" than eclipse?
I don't think you can remove it since I understand the bar hosts the connections panel.. The soundbar is not under the TV, it is part of the TV. You have the screen (thin like all the new LG panels), the soundbar and then some more glass
If soundbar is wider than the tV, it means the glass square must also be wider than the TV screen (or it is not a square anymore...). Looking forward to seeing it, but according to your descrption, it looks original and very nice... Thanks for this very interesting post !
I'll try to be more clear :) Shape-wise, Imagine a BV11 but thin as the new LG panels, with a shorter (in height) soundbar (bulkier than the BV11 speaker, like the one of the BV7
