• BV10-46 - Mac Mini Calibration

Hi there, I'm new to the forums. I have owned a BV10-46 since March 2012. I am struggling to achieve an acceptable colour calibration with a Mac Mini (2011 model, HDMI). Basically the problem is that the picture is way too dark when playing a video (I'm specially frustrated with Danish series like Forbrydelsen and Borgen which have a particular colour tone). I disabled Film mode from the service menu, I calibrated using the Mac's built-in tool, but during daytime it's impossible to

I'm also waiting... the thing is that if for some reason the design sucks (or better, does not suit the living room according to the house Chief Interior Design Officer...), I'm stuck because I'm definitely not impressed with the angle of vision of the BV11, compared to my current BV10. Anyway, my dealer swears on 4K and CHF 3000 less than the BV11. The 11-55 costs ~13000 CHF (with the motorised stand and a Beo4) without taking into account the trade-in (CHF 1850 over here). Not a dramatic
So, if your BV10-46 is a relatively recent purchase, it might actually have a newer and more up-to-date panel then the BV11.
I don't think it applies to my case. We got the BV 10 in March 2012, and it was in stock at my dealer, so it's unlikely the panel is newer. Anyway, I was just told that the Avant will be initially available in 55", and in August there will be a 85". They also mentioned a third size, but I can't remember if they
« So its going to need a sub and has no DVD/BLURAY player built in. Not really the new Avant then » Not sure, Chris. I think the substitute of the Avant was the BeoVision 7-32 in 2005 : dvd player, amazing BL7.1, motorized stand,... But in 2014, i believe a new 4K panel, a great speaker (always better than the mass market TV), a powerfull image and sound engine, and a clever connectivity panel, can make this new TV the modern Avant. The Blu-ray tends to

  • BV10 - Speaker volume setting vs distance setting

This might be a silly question, you are warned. My right speaker (one of two BL 6000) is further from the TV than the left one (+ ~1m to the listening position). The difference is noticeable. I have seen that there are two settings in the TV which can be altered: the individual volume of the speaker and the distance. What is the right way to proceed? I have set the proper distances but it is not enough. Should I raise the Right volume or decrease the Left one? Or for some reason changing the distances

  • Re: Beovision avant 55" review on trustedreviews

    From the article:
B&O TVs have tended to struggle a little where input lag is concerned, compromising their appeal as video gaming monitor. But B&O is adamant that it has sorted this out for the Avant, and our input lag measurements of around 66ms are indeed reasonable (though not spectacular) for a 4K TV.
Am I wrong or "indeed reasonable" is a bit generous for that kind of lag?

  • Re: Upcoming BV11 price cut
I really hope this is true... Dying for a BV11 55. Do you guys really think that they'll put a 4K panel in it??
I had quotes from two dealers in two different countries - CH and the EU (for us in CH it's cheaper to get stuff tax-free from the EU and then pay the Swiss 8% VAT when importing - thanks to B&O imposing a standard FINAL price across countries). The quote I got from the UK is ~5400 GBP for the 55" and ~4600 for the 46" excl

  • Upcoming BV11 price cut

A little bird showed me the new upcoming price list for the BV11, which would put the price of a 55" on par if not slightly lower than the new Avant (BV11 including Beo4 + Motorised stand). Cuts ranged from 22 to 30%.. If that's the case, I will definitely get one to replace the BV10-46 and get an Avant when a MkII shows up.

  • Re: Who made your Speaker Groups - and how many do you have?
[Just to be clear: Are you talking about making a single Speaker Group that is optimised for a listening area that is big enough for three people? Or are you talking about three distinct listening positions, with a Speaker Group for each? Cheers -geoff
I might have misused some terms. I am talking about three distinct listening positions for when I watch TV by myself. All of them using the same set of speakers (3 Front - 2 Surround), so that if I select

Apologies for going slightly off-topic (I have a BV10 so I'm excluded from the poll for the moment), but when I was enquiring about a BV11 or Avant, a dealer told me that setting up different listening positions would be effective only with a 3-speaker setup (2 external, front only), and that it would not work properly with 4 external speakers(2 front + 2 surround)... Is that accurate information?
With apologies
