• Beo5 Configurator for iPad

Hi All.... Just a heads up (and your oppinion)... I have been helping a lot of guys programming their Beo5/6 remote, and I got tired of creating macro's and so on all the time.... So...... Check out http://www.rungwald.dk and this YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isMyKMlmjso The whole idea is to create something like the Logitech Harmony remote configuration, And I would like to get a community up and running so we together can help each other with generating products and sharing

Yes, the button layout is offcourse the same when importing into the B&O config tool :) Unless you create the XML file from the iPad for a Beo5 remote and then import it into the B&O config tool as a Beo6. The screen sizes is different, and that could cause some of the buttons to jump around a bit. But if you connect your Beo5 to the config tool so it knows it's a Beo5, and generate the XML for Beo5 and then import the XML file, all buttons are as configured in the iPad. Regarding your
GREAT idea and solution! Oh, and welcome to the Beoworld Forum! What should the PRO-Version cost? Will it work with an iPaq 3950 or 3970, too? They do have an infrared port, too. will the XML-file keep the button layout on the screen, too after importing into the config tool? When I learn/copy remotes with the Lintronic Box and generate an xml-file for importing into the config tool it's just one mess of buttons which need to be sorted (which is no problem). [/quote
Looks like a fantastic solution to the beo5, with this I might even get round to setting up the remote instead of using it as a paper weight
Thanks.... The biggest issue is to get as many products as possible into the shared Database, I will upload all the products I have helped users with in the nearest future..
Hi Weebyx, for me it's a really great Idea and looks really simple to program the XML File. I'm wondering, if Your App will be available in german store too... and would like buy the Pro version unless it doesn't cost hundreds of euros. As far as I can see, this RC II App works with lots of Pocket WIN devices, so it's not necessary to get/have an Ipaq 2210. So the Database could be filled with a huge number of devices, to be controlled by BEO5, in
Hi Weebyx,
The Pro version is very cheap :) only 12.99 Euro.
The price sounds good to me.
Your idea about the HardKeys are great, but..... The whole idea with this App is to "mix" products into a configuration like "Watch TV" as I use in my webpage as an example. And then it is difficult for the App to know which Play command from the combination of the tv/amplifier/setup box
Tillykke !! Looks like a great app. If I remember correctly you created an xml configurator together with Keith Saunders years ago, right? Hope your app will be a great success... Stefan
Thanks :) And yes, Keith and I created the first xml configurater together... But since then I have had this idea in the back of my head(with different solutions), and now it was time to get something done about it :)
Hi Weebyx,
But if i understand you correct, you would like to have these hardkeys assigned automatically in some way ? Maybe it should be possible to drag'n'drop a complete product to a subpage, and it will then assign the Hardkeys that maches in name to the specific hardkeys ? And then just assign all commands for that product which is NOT a known hardkey as softkeys ?
Exactly yes. Let's say You have LG TV, AppleTV

And it is now available for download on the AppStore :) Just search for Beo5... Please try it out and contact me if you have any questions or issues.. DON'T buy the upgrade unless you have tested your configuration first. Configure the remote and try the XML that is generated from the free version to see if it does what you need. If it works, then buy the Pro version :) /Weebyx
The idea is great Weebyx. Just downloaded the app on my iPad. A userguide would be very helpfull. Can you put this on your site or give us a link? I am looking forward to try this with 3rd party products. You have to make an account? What do I get? Please let me/us know how to use the app. The video is also very helpfull and gives a good impression of the possibilities.
The "How To" section on my site (http://www.rungwald.dk) contains a lot of help
