• Re: Beosystem 1 Issues - Any help?

Was this ever resolved? I am not entirely in the same situation, but I am planning on turning on a projector via the RS232 port of BS1, so it would be great to understand any pitfalls..

If there is enough interest it is only a matter of time. Here are a couple of examples... http://readwrite.com/2011/12/02/5_best_siri_hacks

  • Re: BeoRemote App for iPad released
Wouldn't it be great if B&O offered some sort of adapter for existing TV's. I know there is the ML Gateway but I don'y have an AMX, Crestron or other system so it seems a bit overkill. I have a MK5 BeoVision 7-40 which I consider to be reasonably up to date and would love to control it by my iPad. I am very interested to see this new TV as it may prompt a little desire to upgrade!!
Shouldn't be too difficult to make. If someone with a BV11

  • Re: 3D sound

so the intent for home use is obviously not to have 128 speakers- even the best movie theaters are deploying 64 speakers. the key to this is in the availability of 128 discrete channels - so the combination of the number of speakers - 5.1 or 7.1, 9.2 - and the capabilities and position of the speakers will determine what is being sent to each speaker. I agree there has been a number formats that never took off such as DVD-A HD-DVD, SACD etc, but this is actually being rolled out to movie theaters

  • Re: Mammutbox

it is actually stated in the post above - the price is SEK3495 or about USD550 Based on the size and the position of the connectors It sure looks like the hardware platform is based on Raspberry PI, which mean the hardware platform should be pretty robust, so it all come down to the software.

  • Re: 3D sound

Instead of creating 3D sound from stereo speakers I think the future for surround is Dolby Atmos. Instead of carrying a 7.1 or a 5.1 signal it has up to 128 channels and based on your particular configuration and placement of speakers these the sound stage will be configured for your specific configuration. This is only in cinemas yet, but it will come to home cinemas eventually. http://designingsound.org/2012/11/my-impressions-of-dolby-atmos/

  • Re: DataLink and IR, same language?

I think a microprocessor such as http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/index.html would be easier to to work with. the format for the Ir is described here http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/33137/datalink.pdf If your German is up to par there is a lot of inspiration here http://www.ulf-kiener.de/ Keep us in the loop...

  • Re: Beovision 11 3D Glasses

There are (at least) 2 types of active shutter glasses - IR and RF. I believe BV11 ueses IR, but it would be great if someone could confirm. The cheapest "guest" glasses for IR 3D are the Playstation glasses http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-3D-Glasses/dp/B00562O8U0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359480839&sr=8-1&keywords=playstation+3+glasses They can often be had for $20.

  • Re: White Beolab 5s/9s

I think that is what BeoBoy68 is offering you to take care of. If you have a picture of the current wall and a color code/description it is pretty easy to change the wall color in photoshop and drop in a couple of BL5s in.
