Re: Beolab 5 - calibration again and again?
No, my opinion is there is an eprom fault and will need replacing. I dont think it will be an expensive fix. The eprom must be quite cheap to purchase and it took less than an hour to take out the electronics to swap out the chip. There are specialist tools involved and you have to wear a static wrist strap. I would get a specialist in.

Re: Beolab 5 - calibration again and again?
One of my Beolab 5 speakers every few months lost its calibration and the green light flashed. I had the eprom in the unit replaced and no problem ever since. The eprom had to come from B&O headquarters as it needed special programming first.

Re: Beosound 9000 Mk1 with multiple issues
First thing would be to connect a pair of speakers using the powerlink cables first. Preferably a pair of beolabs. It doesn't do much without them connected. After that hopefully the control panel should operate all the features, if not get a beo4 remote and make sure it's in option 1 which is the factory setting for this unit

Re: beolab 5 old chassis more fragile ?
I had Nick from Prossers here a couple of days ago to repair my Beolab 5 speaker, he replaced the Eprom as it forgot its calibration a couple of times. Various Bang & Olufsen stores use Nick as their approved repair specialist as it is under warranty. Interestingly I had a chat with him regarding the reliability of the Beolab 5 speakers and he said they are "bullet proof". He said he does occasionally replace the chassis but considering the amount of Beolab 5's out there and the

Re: beolab 5 old chassis more fragile ?
It certainly is a worry for Beolab 5 owners, sounds like the fail rate is quite high. From my personal experience I've owned my pair for one and a half years and they were 6 years old when I purchased them. The only fault I have is one of them forgetting it's calibration twice, they have a 3 year warranty so I'll probably get it repaired. They are fantastic speakers, although B&O have stopped selling them and with the high fail rates I wonder how long the spares will last so in the

Re: Converter between Beolab 5 and Core
So, just to confirm, if you want to use the Beolab 5 Without using powerlink cables you connect the digital cables to them, and a sync cable, and use the beo4 remote direct to the speakers to control volume??
