Hi Martin Thanks :) Did the S22 not have a dome tweeter?

  • Beovox S22 vs 1702

Hi everyone :) I just wondered if anyone had experience of the S22 and 1702 and which sounded better in your opinion? I was looking to use some for a simple surround setup in a bedroom - and for listening to music. Any thoughts? Thanks!

  • Re: Beovox S45 Capacitors - Values

Thanks everyone The speakers are to be used in a study and not for critical listening. I wondered if the Vishays would sound better than replacement electrolytics? They seem to be the right price point for me - whereas I couldn't justify the cost of the Solen MKP's for their listening environment. Thanks again!

  • Beovox S45 Capacitors - Values

OK - Well now I've sorted the seized woofer on one of my S45 Mk1 - I'd like to replace the capacitors on the crossovers. The values are all 16uf - and I wondered if 15uf cap's would be suitable? I think I read a post somewhere - possibly on the archived forum - showing the circuit diagram with 15uf cap's? I wonder what people think of Vishay capacitors? There's a chap selling sets of 6 x 15uf MKT1813 at £13 including postage which looks like a good deal? Thanks!

  • Re: Beovox S45 Magnet Success: Screwdriver + CD Case + Glue + Xmas Card!

Hi Richard You can't see the core - or pole of the magnet unless you remove the dust cap. Has the magnet visibly shifted out of centre? I was going to put up some pics - however I've somehow managed to erase them from my phone If anyone has any seized Peerless woofers - don't throw them as I'd be interested in them

  • Beovox S45 Magnet Success: Screwdriver + CD Case + Glue + Xmas Card!

OK - So I bought a pair of Beovox S45 6302 from eBay (£7.00!) - only to read of the dreaded magnet issues after they had been collected by the couriers. Yikes.... They arrived today - and sure enough one had a seized woofer Well I have no specialist equipment - and from what I read the woofers are really only good for binning when this happens. So I thought myself - I've nothing to lose!!! The magnet had slipped sideways a centimetre or so dislodging the inner cylindrical core. So I sat
