  • Re: BeoLab 1 Reliability

Thanks Beobuddy What faults appear in the tweeters and do you know what causes the problems? Thanks again!

  • BeoLab 1 Reliability

Hi everyone Just a general question this, I wondered what the general consensus is with regards the reliability of the BeoLab 1? I have read quite a few threads regarding issues with power status, amplifiers, tweeters etc.. Are there common faults that are resolvable - or are the speakers plagued with differing and problematic issues? I don't know, but I imagine the components are all SMT making repair more troublesome. Thanks

Thanks Martin Do you know what this surround would be made from? It looks and feels exactly like rubber and nothing like the foam used in other Beovox models.

  • Beovox C30 - Rubber Woofer Surrounds?

Hi all I have a pair of C30 loudspeakers. The woofers appear to have surrounds that are quite different to the usual foam surrounds of other Beovox woofers. They feel and look like rubber and there is no deterioration at all in the material. Does anyone know if these drivers were fitted with rubber surrounds at any stage in their production life? I've enclosed a photo. Thanks!

  • Vision to Legend / Spark to Icon Books - Signed?

Hi all! So I was very lucky to receive an 'as new' copy of 'From Spark to Icon' for Christmas from my family I had no idea this was such a superb and weighty tome! The copy I have has a signature by Jens Bang(?) - but I wondered if this was an actual / real signature or just a part of the print? Photo enclosed. Also can anyone tell me what the differences are between this book and 'From Vision to Legend'? Thanks!

  • Re: Beolit 600 - No Reception Below 95MHz

UPDATE!! OK so I thought I would take a look inside the tuning module... I removed both covers and checked the solder joints which all looked nice & bright. Then I tapped around - and when I tapped the tuning cap some crackles came forth!! I tapped a bit more & tuned down below 95MHz - et voila - stations!! I just re-flowed all of the joints on the board and the connections to the tuning cap and it all now seems to be working fine! All the stations are coming in loud & clear below 95MHz

Hi Nick Thanks for the reply! OK I tried it with a mains adaptor - no change. So I checked the voltages. There isn't a dark blue wire going into the tuner module - but there is a violet wire - no voltage on that. However there is 6.9v on the red wire & 5.9v on the orange wire. I replaced the 500uF/6v supply decoupling cap (numbered 16 on the schematic) with the nearest I had lying around (470uF/16v) and that made no difference either

  • Re: Beolit 600 - No Reception Below 95MHz

Hi Nick Thanks for the reply! The lowest station I can currently receive on the Beolit 600 on FM is a local station ‘Signal 1’ broadcasting on 96.4 - this is however displaying as around 95.7 on the scale and comes in very weakly. Above that the stations come in loud and clear. I can receive lots of other stations loud & clear below 95 down to Radio 2 at 88.3 on all of my other radios. A strong signal is normally received from BBC Radio Stoke locally at 94.6 which is silent on the
