  • Beoplay V1 and Beo5

Hi. This is my first post to the forum. After being a satisfied user of a Beovision 6-26 for years, I am considering to buy a BeoPlay V1-40. In my current set-up, I am using a Beo5 remote control for my BV6, a Beosound 3000, my Beolabs 8000 and a STB. In the new set-up, I want to connect a STB, my Sonos system, a DVD player and the Beolabs directly to the Beoplay V1. I probably will not be using my Beosound anymore in this set-up. Is it possible to continue using the Beo5 remote control with the

  • Beoplay V1 and Sonos

I am thinking of buying a BeoPlay V1 to replace my Beovision 6-26. I would like to connect the V1 to my Beolab 8000's, and to a Sonos system. Are there any experiences or recommendations on the Forum for connecting a Sonos to the V1? How would you connect it? Via the AV connector or digitally via the SPDIF connector? In case of connecting to the SPDIF connector, would this mean that one of the five HDMI ports has to 'allocated' to the Sonos? Any thoughts on the audio settings? The music

Apple Tv is certainly the next add-on. The idea is to use it mainly for photos which I have on my Mac. I would probably not use it for music. My entire multi-room set-up is based on sonos and I don't want to give in on that. As for the DAC, I am not sure that the Sonos Dac is so good. You can find many reviews on the internet where they improve the audio quality by using a sonos with an external DAC. I would hope that the V1 would take over this role. What do you think?

  • V1 and Sonos: time shift

All since last week I am a very proud and satisfied owner of a V1! The set-up is great with excellent picture quality and great sound. Apple TV works like a charm, and music is playing through my Beolabs 8000. I also connected my Sonos via digital coax (SPDIF). This works perfect with a small inconvenience. The soundprocessing of the V1 causes a small delay between the music which I play in my living room via Sonos and the V1, and the music a play in my kitchen directly from the Sonos. Any suggestions

In my previous setup, the Sonos was connected via Aux to the Beosound. The Beosound was connected via masterlink to the BV6. The Beolabs were connected to the BV6. The entire setup was analogue. In the new setup, the Sonos is digitally connected to the V1. Maybe the delay is caused by V1 digital to analogue processing. Would it help if I would connect the Sonos via AV instead of via SPDIF?

Hi John the lip sync issue is similar to the latency I experience with my Sonos. The V1 sound processing adds a delay which causes lip sync for you, or echo-effects when I play my Sonos in party mode. Lucky for you, you could manage it by tuning your player. However, this is not possible on my Sonos system. Any suggestions how I can shorter/eliminate the latency on the V1 side? Since there is no video processing involved, I would expect that some of the audio settings have longer latency than others

I will check this week-end if I can reduce the V1 latency by using the "Game" video setting and the "Custom 1:1" Audio setting. In case the latency still remains too high to use my Sonos in party mode, I am considering to buy a Bosscom Powerlink Switch. Anybody on the forum has experience with this Switch? Will it resolve the latency issue? regards Jan

  • Bosscom Powerlink Switch

  • Beolab 8000 + beolab 11?

Hi all, Here is a question to the Forum. I currently have 2 Beolab 8000 hooked up to my Beoplay V1. Works great! I am considering to add a Beolab 11 as subwoofer to the system. I am less of a movie guy, but listen a lot to music, ranging from classical music to rock and pop. What is the advice from the Forum? Will it improve my listening experience? Jan

  • Re: CT 6.00 crashes

Keith Today I have been able to work with the config tool without any problems or crashes. What changed? I did two things, but am not sure which one has solved my problems. First I re-installed the USB driver. Secondly, I am running the CT tool in compatibility mode (compatible with XP Service Pack 2). Maybe this is info is useful for other users too! Regards, Jan
