Re: Beocord VX7000 no sound
Hi there, makes a lot of sense. That is exactly what I did except for the SPDIF setting. I can't seem to find it. Whre is it supposed to be? I have looked everywhere and no entry where to disable SPDIF. Thanks! Kai

Re: Beocord VX7000 no sound
I am pretty sure that it is due to the DD module. A converter will be needed. Thanks! Kai

Re: Beocord VX7000 no sound
There is cinch audio out on the VX7000. Can this be used to get sound to the MX8000? Sorry to be so lost here. I have had a similar issue with my DVD2 when connected to the old Avant. Scart didn't transport any sound and separate connection via jack had to be made. That did the trick then. But since the audio out of the VX7000 is analogue and the audio in on the MX8000 is digital, I would probably need a converter, wouldn't I? Kai

Re: Beocord VX7000 no sound
Hi there, can't say for sure. Have tried two different Scart cables to no avail. Maybe they were both not fully wired? Are you sure that you need a fully wired one? How can you tell whether it is that or not? Greetings, Kai

Beocord VX7000 no sound
Dear members, I am trying to connect a VX7000 to an MX8000 with dolby digital module. No external speakers connected. While I do get a picture and the VX7000 seems to be working fine, there is absolutely no sound. Any idea what this lack of sound can be due to? Thanks! Greetings, Kai

Re: Beocord 8000; play disengages immediately; REW and FF work fine
Hi there, try a different tape first. I have had that problem too. The later Beocords like the 8000 are more sensitive to hard to turn cassettes. Tried my old Beocord 5000 thereafter and it did play the exact same cassette without a problem. Greetings, Kai

Re: Beovox 5700/5702 opinion please.
Hi there, I haven't heard the 5700, but compared many of the Beovox. I still have M100s and M75s alongside S45s. The M series are not very efficient. That is true and makes comparisons hard at times. You always need to crank up volume a bit to end up at the same level of volume as with the speakers you are comparing them to. I did my comparisons with a Quad where you can easily switch between speakers. The M series are balanced speakers without any weakness if you ask me. All other speakers I

Looking for a small DVB-C receiver
Dear members, I am looking for a small external DVB-C receiver with Scart to use with my old CRT televisions. Most are rather big boxes but I won't have much space available. It's hard to get an overview of the market, which is why I am asking here. Is there anything to your awareness that's worthy of a recommendation? Thanks! Kai

Re: Looking for (don't laugh!) a WORKING US/NTSC VX5000 VCR
You are awfully lucky if they got it fixed. In fact, in most cases, it is simply not possible. There are so many constructive weaknesses of the VX5000. They overheat. Therefore the powersupply needs to be redone. Better fit one that's not producing as much heat because otherwise you'll end up with the same problem soon. Electronic parts are to old now and spread acid all over the place. If that happens you'll likely end up in a situation where you better throw the machine away. Boards

Re: Looking for (don't laugh!) a WORKING US/NTSC VX5000 VCR
Hello, I'd like to have one too, but you can most certainly forget about finding one. Most if not all are now non-functional and repair is complicated if not impossible in many cases. For sure it is uneconomical. It is a long time project of mine, but even with several attempts and quite a couple of non-working examples I was unable to get one up and running. They are too complex, flimsy in parts of the contruction and old now. Be prepared to buy several examples and spend quite some money to
