• Re: Bv11 55 or LGC9 panel with stage soundbar
Unlikely your dealer actually has a Sky box connected in order for you to test. They tend not to pay for a Sky subscription in stores. I’d peruse LG forums to see how people have managed with the LG remote and Sky, as this may give you a good starting point
Thank you - will peruse the LG forums - I take it that if a sky box can be controlled with the LG remote it’s a good indicator that it will work with beoremote one - is that right?
This solution does not offer PUC control, as with the BeoVisions. Controlling external devices relies on the CEC feature of the tv, (the Stage) and the external box’es. CEC often works, but is not always reliable or only partly. It is tested with the AppleTV 4/K. In my experience (my son has a C9) an LG bluray plyer works well - the controlling of his former Philips player was not perfect. Time will tell - when people start reporting - which satelite boxes etc

Hi this package sounds very tempting - when compared to a full beovision is there any major compromise in user experience other than no ability to add speakers for surround sound - for example does the brone remote control input devices (eg satellite boxes) like a full beovision?

And another article (link below) - the reader comments on the article are interesting - not much love for the brand anymore! https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-7388863/Luxury-TV-speaker-maker-Bang-Olufsen-looking-buyers-string-profit-warnings.html#comments

  • Re: Beolab 5 vs 50 vs 90?
If you go only by sound, then it must be the 90’s. They stay in your head, steal your soul and make you wonder which bodypart you could sell to get them. They are truely like nothing else! New: Beolab 50's, Beolab 18's, Beovision eclipse, Beosound 9000 mk3, Beosound 1 Bronze edition, Beoplay M3. • Re: BeoPlay M5 ?

Difficult one this - I get why some hate it and understand why some give it a pass on the basis of price - my view is that the product should delight - the a1 is a 'cheap' product but, imo, is brilliant in its peer group - having played with the m5, the Sonos play 5 leaves it for dead in terms of sound and think some of the finishes the m5 feel unpleasant - not for me.

  • Re: BeoLab 90 - The BeoWorld Review...

I agree - occasionally a product arrives which changes everything - makes you release what is possible and how amazing creative humans can be. A good counterbalance to the problems with my current kit - I think I have have the final moment with my moment - keeps disconnecting from wifi despite min this of B&o help with installing industrial grade Cisco routers etc. Life too short to deal this this.

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen for sale - official anouncement today

This is a bit of a shock because i thought sentiment in the company was strengthening a little. The weak link for me at least has been with the store experience - something very wrong here - a dealership in central London that cannot be bothered to sell be an Avant 75 with bl17/18 - saying they are not sure they are able to install and said and I quote "if I choose to trade in/upgrade the avant 75 (£14000+ with stand) that they will give me £500 for it towards my next TV) - how times have changed

Whilst the company has sought buyers before this looks more likely given they are now in talks with potential buyers. See UK newspaper report: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/12019139/Bang-and-Olufsen-in-talks-over-sale.html

I think they will sell well. I though they looked odd when I first saw the pictures. But after 25 mins with them in Harrods yesterday the quality of craftsmanship but above all the sound - the best speakers I have ever heard - blew me away. I walked in just curious - I left knowing I need to find a way of owning a pair. Just amazing and great for the B&O brand.
