  • B&o repairs and set-up - Weybridge, Surrey

Hi there, Have a request from my boss- he has recently moved to a new house, and has some nice b and o penta speakers, a broken b&o 6 cd system... He needs some repairs, and advice on how to connect them all, and is happy to pay... Any ideas of any suitable companies/people in the area? cheers Jeff

No, he's quite capable in fact. He has looked around, but when talking to him over a coffee last week, I mentioned that I was a member of a b and o community, and I would ask for any advice or recommendations. Previously whenever I have posted, the replies have been useful and insightful. I would wonder why you would feel the need to respond at all, seeing as you evidently have nothing to add. Best, Jeff

Thanks for the support Michael, I was a little surprised at the hostility received. I have actually been a member for a number of years, and have contributed questions and answers, mostly in relation to vintage equipment I have owned over the years. I have contributed with manuals and schematics when I saw requests, and have in turn asked for help locating various odds and ends, including speaker cone replacement kits and mmc20 stylus. I was also a gold member for a number of years, and enjoyed participating

  • Recommendations for BeoGram

Hi there, I have recently moved, and now have space to put my record player in the lounge, alongside my beomaster 6000 (once it's had it's rubber replaced)... I have a beaten up 2402 at the moment, with need of multiple repairs... and I've never really thought it was that great... So... which reasonably priced (!) BeoGram would you recommend? Looking for easy use, and good sound quality, but the ability to buy cartridges/stylii easily (which I struggled with my old 1202) - and connect

  • BeoLab 6000 and Yamaha WXC-50 - any advice or alternatives?

Hi All, I have recently bought some lovely beolab 6000 speakers, and a fantastic beogram 5500 after moving into a new house. My original intention was to buy the sonos amp when it was released last week, and use this to take advantage of the optical in (TV mounted above the record player), the Aux in (for the beogram) and the beolabs connected as the speakers either side of the TV in addition to all the Sonos spotify/airplay etc.) I soon found out that active speakers and the sonos amp were not good

I ended up getting the WXC 50, along with a small subwoofer. It works brilliantly - and I can’t notice any lip sync issues with the optical in... although I may have stared at it for too long! The phone connection in from my beogram 5500 is a bit quieter than the other inputs but think I might just need a better phone pre amp- plenty enough for now! thanks for all the replies - so helpful! Cheers- back to listening to those records now! jeff

Just to complete the thread, I can heartily recommend this preamp - I now have amazing quality sound, both from the record player in the lounge with the beolabs and subwoofer, plus all around the house from the Yamaha multiroom. I can die happy! thanks again to all who gave their time to help!

That's great! I just ordered this, as there's definitely a marked difference in the volume from the record player...
