  • Re: BeoLab 50

Adam - I was also at the New York showroom a few weeks ago and had the exact same impression vis-a-vis the BL50 and BL90. I suspect the issues with the BL50 is that the staff did not set up the BL50 properly for the room, and second the music source (from the TV) was poor I was told they dd not have any high resolution music to demo with on the BL50 (whereas they did on the BL90). Everyone here says the sound in amazing, so i was very surprised by the results. On top of that the speaker casing was

  • Re: Should I buy a BeoLab 19 subwoofer?

I have the BL19 paired with BL1s, and great sound improvement. not booming and well suited for music. I would recommend it to add it to the TV (without the rears). It is not overwhelming and adds what your current speakers have been missing.

  • Re: Connect a BEOSOUND 9000 to a BEOVISION AVANT with AV IN

I had this setup, but with the BV11-55. I used a SPDIF cable to connect the two digitally, and it worked perfectly. The only thing is that you will not be able to use the radio on the BS9000 (which is not an issue for most), and the only thing you will be able to do with the remote for the BS9000 is turn it on . Steve from SoundHeavenly has the cable here https://www.soundsheavenly.com/beolab-5-beolab-50-and-beolab-90/34--spdif-.html I do not know what connectors the Avant has, so check first.

  • Re: Anyone with a Beovision 11 mk1 please read !

I have a 11-55 MK1 and no buzzing whatsoever. Unfortunate that B&O could not find the issue but I very much doubt this is a common issue with MK1s, but rather a manufacturing issue with your specific TV. Otherwise we would have heard a lot of complaints on here.

  • Re: BeoVision 11 (Story developing)

The MK1 also had some manufacturing issues that may have been resolved in later years. In my MK1 the foam surrounding the inside of the screen has some minor gaps, so in some cases I do see bleed from the LEDs. Minor issue but bothersome at first. I also read here that some people had dust accumulated on the inside of the screen. But just having the WISA capability built in is worthwhile in the long term if you plan to add additional speakers. Overall it is a beautiful TV.

  • Re: No more dedicated USA technical support!

Not so concerned with tech support being out of Denmark, as long as they account for the time difference and have sufficient resources. To be frank in all my time owning B&O I have relied on the dealer for support, or the extensive manuals, or this fourm - i did not even know there was a general number. My bigger concern is the diminishing number of dealers, and the level of knowledge maintained at the dealers. My former dealer (store closed) was quite good in getting the issues resolved. But

  • Re: Beosound 9000 CD skipping sound

Beobuddy - I have a BS9000 MK2. When it was fixed by BO, I was told it was replaced with a MK3 mechanism (this was during the last year of the BS9000 run). Could this be true? Are MK2 and MK3 BS9000s built better or have you seen the same failure rates as with the MK1s

  • Re: Beosound 9000 CD skipping sound

I had something similar before it completely stopped being able to read the CD's (it would go into pause). You probably need to change the laser mechanism. The laser on my MK2 lasted only 4-5 years before it had to be changed. Others here may know whether the B&O still provides the service, and whether the MK1 mechanism can be replaced.

  • Re: Beovision 11-46

It all depends on budget and whether you listen to music much. If you go with the BL17 or BL18, definitely add the BL19 (it makes a big difference). If you don/t really care for surround sound you can even just add the BL19 and there will be a huge improvement. Of course if budget is not an issue BV11 aould be amazing with the BL50 :)

  • Re: BeoLab 50

Not including shipping (and US duty) this would be US$20K savings. Massive. I think there will be a few of us ordering from the UK. I bought my BL1s and BS9000 from Switzerland way back in 2000 as the price difference was similarly large. I will wait for the aluminum slats (hoping) or just fabric. Not a fan of the wood look...
