• Re: Can B&O survive? Maybe soon?

+1 Alfsed you and I are very alike, but my first exposure to B&O was a bit earlier with the fabulous Beogram 4000 record deck that my dad had, it went wrong many times in the seventies, mainly our fault, but B&O always fixed it and never gave us a hard time, they even replaced the SP15 cartridge a number of times as long as they kept the old one - happy days :-) 1) Integration: yes I had it installed in the last three houses I've been in at great expense, but now in our current home with

  • Beomaster 5000 as a pre-amp

I would like to use my BM5000 as a pre-amp, but I need to buy a 4002 switch unit, this it seems is nothing more than a 12v trigger The 4002 is triggered by the power on the 5000 so you can power on a dedicated amplifier at the same time. Before I figure out how to make a 12v trigger on, does anyone has a 4002 they don't need, or indeed has anyone made something similar to the 4002 switch, I'm thinking it could be within my simple DIY soldering skills, thanks if you can help me on any of this

I don't think it will be easy for B&O, now that Apple are buying Loewe for $113 million USD http://www.tchnws.com/tech-news/apple-linked-with-113-million-acquisition-of-german-television-manufacturer-loewe/ Apple has been linked with the acquisition of German electronics company and reputable television manufacturer Loewe AG , with reports that a deal could be announced internally by the end of next week, AppleInsider reports . Sources have told the Apple-focused website that Apple has entered

it does seem an odd mix, Sharp, Apple and Loewe, but I don't think for a minute that Apple have gone into this blind, I have a feeling Sharp and Apple are looking at ways to increase market share, and Loewe needed to be taken out of the equation !

  • Can B&O survive? Maybe soon?

I really thought B&O was going to survive when I saw Beolink videos appearing on their website, for me that is where B&O should have concentrated their efforts on, and training thousands of B&O dealers around the world to do brilliant installations incorporating all the sexy stuff in this "Home Integration" video from 2006 http://www.bang-olufsen.com/home-integration-beolink

  • Re: B&O Play TV coming this quarter

I had the same experience lately with a visit to our local B&O shop with my family in tow, the Beoplay V1 TV nothing special and 3x the price of other top quality products in that space, my two daughters tried all three headphones in the new Play range and said the V-Jays they have from Sweden are better sq, the Beolit 12 did not really inspire us (but it did sound good), the Beoplay A8 iPod dock needs to be half the price to compete in that busy end of the market, but the only thing I was nearly

  • Re: Beogram 7000 & Beocenter 9000 problems
It would be a messy solution. Preamps built to fit inside the Beogram are available: http://www.mb-el.net/side3.html A tech guy, soldering etc. is needed to do the job. Martin
interesting solution, but it is about £86 pounds plus shipping to the UK, then the tech guys labour, maybe another £50, I did see a better solution recently from Iconic for about £60 and includes the right leads/cables free with the unit. http://www.iconic-av.co.uk/item/1322/RIAA+Pre

  • Re-Wiring the Whole House

This summer I am going to be re-decorating the whole house, and installing S/FTP ethernet cabling to every room so that all my B&O gear can simply plug into RJ45 wall sockets like this The middle face plate will have three RJ45 connections, the middle one for the Masterlink, and left and right for powerlink Beolab speakers. I am going to cut the Masterlink cable from the Ouverture and terminate an RJ45 shell on the other end the pin outs on the ML connector are shown like this The documentation

  • Re: Re-Wiring the Whole House

    thank you - that's great info, now to do a test system at the weekend :-) it seems that Pin 3 on the Masterlink ( ML Sense ) is not required for this to work, easy peasy japaneeze ! RJ45 to Masterlink Pin 1 to Pin 16 ( Right + speaker ) Pin 2 to Pin 15 ( Right - speaker ) Pin 3 to Pin 12 ( + supply voltage) Pin 4 to Pin 14 ( Left + Speaker ) Pin 5 to Pin 13 ( Left - Speaker ) Pin 6 to Pin 11 ( - supply voltage ) Pin 7 to Pin 2 ( Data + 0.4v ) Pin 8 to Pin 1 ( Data - 0.4v )
