My 2 cents here...... What B&O do they usually do it very well. If people want the latest mass market trendy trinket of 4 K, go for it. People can buy any number of lower end tvs that provide early stage 4 K tech with little content. How long did it take to get blu ray once DVDs came out? People dumped analogue video once DVD came out, but it took along time. I think in the world of high end hifi, you cant offer people everything - you either do a few things well, or you compromise overall. Why

I dont pretend to understand the hipster generation being a gen X myself, as I find that pretty fickle too. Heck I own a nokia 3315 green screen but work in IT, go figure. What I do know is this much is true - a quality product will always sell. The majority of people dont care about hifi - they care about ease of use and whether they can have a tv the size of a commercial fridge mounted on their walls so they can watch the latest populist trash from hollyweird. The majority of people are not deep

  • Suggestion for iPod connection to analogue amp

Hi I would like to connect an iPod to an analogue amp, but want to use an iPod Dock if possible. i was also thinking alternatively using a pre-amp to put between the iPod and the amp to reduce power drain on the iPod while it's driving the amp. The best solution would be an iPod Dock that incorporates a high end preamp as well, but any suggestions greatly appreciated......

That is a great little lathe - very nice! My lathe is a 9x20 hobbyist lathe, so it's not heavy duty....next lathe perhaps. I have been blessed with a car garage that I also use as a workshop. Most Australians have a garage so we have room to spread out. I was walking home from work today and a kangaroo hopped past. The joys of living close to the bush! You don't want to hit a Roo- 100 kg of damage to a car......

Yes clean design is just the best. The best technology is hidden, IMHO. I spent a lot of time recently wiring my parents house for Cat 5E ethernet and installed a gigabit switch and ran all the cables through the walls and up into the ceiling. We are only just receiving Cat 6A cabling in Australia.I was fortunate that the house had wood frames and drywall/gyprock walls so its easy to run cables. In european countries the hollow skirting board for any AV cabling is a great idea - you dont have to

Hi Elephant - OK that makes sense - I received a promotional email just yesterday on it actually. I must admit, I find Essence a bit of an oddity, as a remote will do pretty much the same function. Perhaps I've missed the thought process behind it? I'd welcome ideas... Soren - nice , what size is the lathe? Are you looking at machining up now-obsolete replacement B&O bits? I have a small lathe for hobby work. Manual lathes are good - keeps skills practiced. These days its too easy to

Hi Paul 00, Actually that was a question I was going to ask - the room I have is 4m wide x 8m long and carpeted, but we only use the first part of it for viewing tv ( so the listening space is 4m x 4m in effect ) - do you think its necessary to get a subwoofer? I plan on mounting ther 3s up on the walls ( perhaps 1m below roof ) but wasnt sure as to whether that would mean subwoofer needed. I'm also interested in how your 3s are installed - table, wall or stand or roof? We dont watch a lot of
