  • Re: B&O Profits warning issued today

The only area the company are strong in is loudspeaker technology. They need to put all their efforts into that area but the majority of the shops should close. 15-20 company owned shops in the UK should suffice for such a niche area. The share price is on the floor. No other company has survived such a crash in share price to be valued just 5% of where it was 7 years ago. Tue’s plan is in tatters. Hard to see how he can survive the January quarterly update. Year after year production seems to be

  • The stores are changing !!

I recently passed the Marlow store , but it is closed - it has been for a number of days . The sign says it's closed for refurbishment !!! Can't believe anyone would spend money on doing this in the current market !! Perhaps the sign is an indication of something more ominous !! Worrying times . I know that the owner has a multibrand store as well , it's amazing what you have to do to keep the B&O brand going !!!

  • Re: Store Closures

I believe all you say Lee and have a great regard for all you do for the brand. I also have met the same people as you and even the inspirational Anders Knutsen ( there was a man who was passionate about the brand and who influenced all who worked with him) and agree about your comments concerning the staff in Struer who work passionately for the business. I sincerely hope that those running the company can keep it going during these difficult times in memory for all those excellent dealers who are

  • Store Closures

The Reading store is now closed - gone are the heady days when there were 120 stores in the UK . There are only 61 now !!! And of these ,possibly 8-10 are owned and managed by B&O themselves !!! Who knows what accounts model these operate on , surely not the same one used by those hardworking franchised dealers. I admire those dealers but would be interested to know if the UK has a new model of operation , or will we see even more shrinkage of the network ?

  • Re: Store Closures

I think you are right Reading was owned/managed by B&O. However IMHO it may be difficult for them to own/manage for much longer as the full years accounts may show us in the next couple of weeks . The reason why they got franchisees involved as far as I am aware is that they felt they were not effective as retailers themselves and wanted others to bear the risk and potential reward . If I was a franchisee I would not be happy having to compete with a B&O owned store in a difficult market

  • Re: Shop in Shop or B1 Store?

There should be more SIS in the Uk. In Germany there are almost an equal amount of SIS to B1. For much of what a B&O customer wants an SIS is more than capable of giving a great service. Where the whole experience is desired then customers will always be happy to travel - they don’t need that once in every one or two year thrill in their local town. B1 shops were massively let down by Bang & Olufsen. Since the early 2000’s dealers were shouting loudly to the company about what the market

  • Re: Share price drop?

The report from Handelsbanken to their clients regarding B and O makes for interesting reading and perhaps goes someway to explaining the dramatic fall in the share price here is a link P52724PR7e56a20-9054.pdf Tue will really have to pull the rabbit out of the hat next week !!!!!!!!!! I hope they do manage to turn the corner and inspire us fans yet again !!!!!

  • Re: Can B&O survive? Maybe soon?

I feel sorry for all those dealers who invested heavily into the brand , many excellent dealers have now gone to the wall after reassurances from the company that things were going to get better. I hope that from Beoplay that the phoenix can indeed rise from the ashes - but all too late for those dealers who have now fallen by the wayside. Good luck to Beo Play - I think its the only way for the company to move forward.
