• Re: Struer Trip 2012
that cave where they filmed the Tonmeister video
It's http://www.monsted-kalkgruber.dk/ , in case you're serious about that. (it's about a 40 minute drive from Struer, give or take). Bring a coat - it's cold in there, regardless of the outside temperature. A flashlight is also a good idea. If you're planning on taking photos, bring a tripod (see http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoffgmartin/3500779791/in/set-72157617536328651 as an example
To be clear, Struer is in the middle of nowhere!
Well... as one of my colleagues in the acoustics department says, "Struer isn't the end of the world... but we can see it from here..." cheers -geoff
I might have to bypass some WWII sites !
You could even visit some while you're in Struer... For example: The photos at http://www.krigsturist.dk/folder_stp-grp/stp-grp_50_flgh-rom_dk.htm are of a site less than 30 minutes drive (near Lemvig, if you're looking). More info and photos (also in English and German) at http://www.lemvig.com/historie.htm The museum at Hantsholm is a bit of a drive north from here, but worth it, apparently (it's on

  • Re: Beolab 5... Inverted phase?
Interestingly, as you mentioned the cables, I have two completely different cables -different brand and different length (8ft and 27ft).
One quick option is to swap the cables and see if the "wrong phase" measurement follows the cable or stays with the speaker. Cheers -geoff

  • Re: Beolab 5... Inverted phase?
I have owned the bl5 for many months already, but because the speakers have been sounding wonderfully to my ears, only recently I did try to run audyssey-pro calibration system. By surprise, Audyssey detected and warned that one speaker is out of phase. Does anyone know whether the beolab 5 have been designed that way?
Hi, I guarantee that your two BeoLab 5's will have the same polarity , meaning that positive-going voltages at the inputs will result in

  • Re: Positioning of Beolab 11

Oops... sorry... I hit "Verify" instead of "reply" and I can't seem to undo that. Oh well.. The suggested central placement of a BeoLab 11 (or any subwoofer, for that matter) is a "best case" scenario. Typically, when I'm doing demos in the listening room here at B&O in Struer, it's not uncommon for me to have the BL11 to one side, sitting under one of the two BL3's with which I demo it. the BL3's are typically sitting on a wall shelf with a height

  • Re: B&O Play TV coming this quarter
Forgive me though, as I am still learning about the B&O way of connecting things; as I understand it, Master link is an analogue (and therefore arguably outdated) technology that allows one to connect CD players to say, TV's etc, to allow them to play music in say the bedroom, from the 'master' music system in the lounge?
There are two new options in the V1 that may be of interest for this application. The first is a new Speaker Type called "Line"
Hi. I love the V1 and for me it suits me that it doesn't have master link. Just a quick query in relation to the RJ45s . I noticed on the V1 manual that if you want to connect additional speakers, the connections on the V1 are RJ45s (or ethernet). My question is, at the other end to connect to the speaker, what's the connection? RJ45 to PL? or is it just an ethernet cable?
Hi, RJ45 is the connector for all new PowerLink cables. However, it's not
I think (hope) that Steve will add some additional information. He did talk with Geoff about something which I really did not understand :-)
Don't feel bad - I didn't understand it either... ;-) Cheers -geoff
Geoff, thanks for joining Beoworld and for all your kind explanations.
You're welcome! My pleasure! Actually, we have a symbiotic relationship - since I surf Beoworld for real-world customer opinions, reactions, comments and complaints, I think that it's only fair that I give something back in return. Maybe this is akin to sustainability in information mining, historically known as the YSMBISY Principle. (You Scratch My Back, I'll Scratch Yours
