• Value of BeoVox Cona?

Hey BeoHeads! I'm thinking of letting go of my BeoVox Cona and was wondering where people thought would be a good place to start in terms of pricing it. I'd say it's condition is 8/10... but considering it's black, you really can't see the physical blemishes that are typical of this model. I was thinking $300, but I'm worried that may be a little on the high side. Of course, so many of us, it's worth so much more. So, to be realistic, how should I price it?

  • Re: Beolab 6000 Rubber Surrounds?

I found a pair of 6000's for $400. However, each speaker needed new surrounds. I called the local AUTHORIZED B&O repair shop and they quoted me $400 for EACH speaker (to replace the drivers). After hearing that, I said "to hell with that!" I felt replacing the surrounds would just be a ghetto way of making the repair. In any case, I did a bit of research... After some search inquiries from the forums, I figured out the part number for the 6000's drivers (part # 8480248). I visited

  • B&O DISCONTINUED!?

Ok, well, not in that way. I walked into my local B&O dealership in San Francisco to browse (hang out), and I asked our new proprietor where the Beosound 1 went. He said it went away, hinting at the fact the B&O is moving away from optical drives (hmmm like Apple?). A bit surprised, I looked around. A bit surprised, EVERYTHING that had an optical drive was GONE!... with the exception of the Beosound 4. At this point, I was a bit regretful I sold my Beosound 1 earlier this year (although for

  • BeoPlay (H3) Gripe! Mixed feelings over here...

So, it was only last night that I got wind of the new earphones. Least to say, I'm quite excited, but only for the H3 model. The H6 doesn't really interest me since I've got my trusty Form 1's and Sennheiser HD25's... but that's another story. Naturally, I dove right into various articles to try and get the suggested price for these not-yet-released earphones. This got me thinking... When I first heard about B&O's plans for a BeoPlay line, I was intrigued and excited

  • A8 Rewiring?

I came across this on eBay. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's seen it. Anyone done it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/A8-Bang-Olufsen-Geniune-Earphones-Replacement-Repair-Cable-with-Plug-3-5mm-/200877731084?pt=US_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item2ec53eed0c

  • My Beolab hack! Need some feedback!

Hey everyone, just wanted to pop in and ask the good people of beoworld for some feedback on my latest creation. I made it a year ago, so I guess you can say it's been through a solid year of testing. Anyway, it's basically a signal attenuator, allowing you to connect your Beolab speakers to any regular amp through the normal speaker connections. I found some schematics online and sourced the components from my local electronics store, soldered them all together, and put them neatly into

  • Re: Brown V1

I agree, Simonbeo. Although I'm not keen on the look of the V1 (especially that specific brown), I will admit that the stand might look good next to a couple Le Corbusier chairs (which I think is what it was going for). On a side note, I miss being able to contact eBay bidders of random auctions... I have plenty of "deals" for them to take advantage of!

  • Re: Sad Day for San Francisco
This store closing is really an amazing development. San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the US to live in. However the residents of this city have very high incomes and are definitely in the B&O demographics. Why didn't B&O open a new store somewhere in the city where the rent would be much less. Union square has some of the high rental costs in the city. This is just another reason that many of us to believe that B&O is leaving the

I agree with every word, Tifoso. The first store to close in the San Francisco area was Walnut Creek (talk about where 'old money' people live). And then, the next one to close was Santana Row in San Jose - which is an area always compared to Rodeo Drive (not quite, but sure, I guess). And now, San Francisco, to which I know George Lucas was a client (we all know the secrets of our local stores). The only unnerving issue is the trend of franchise/company location closures. This post has only
Does this mean the only store in the Bay area is the store in Palo Alto?
Yup, Palo Alto is it (when SF locks the doors)... at least Zuckerberg and friends will have their outlet. Is there a 'rolling eyes' emoji? No? Oh well, I'm rolling my eyes, guys!
