• Re: Beolab penta mk3

I bought rubber rings from Good HiFi and found them a little to small but manageable. Second time I bought foam rings from Audiofriends (all for Penta midrange). They where more accurate in size and easier to work with. Of course the foam ring had to be changed again around 2030

  • Beolink 7000 back light and recapping.

I received a package with some components from Conrad. My Beolink 7000 with very weak back-light. Assistant 1. Remove the two screws 2. Remove the cap. 3. Remove the last two screws. 4. Remove glass panel, don´t touch the inside. Be aware that the small four corner nuts don´t fall out. 5. Test the voltage. Should be around 130V 6. Disconnect display pcb from the other units. Be gentle with the ribbon cables. New electrolumiscent film. Testing 7. Slide fixing rails to the left and remove

Re: Foam/Rubber, I did both types. Foam from speaker friends. Rubber from Good Hifi. . They will both work. I don´t think the rubber will get loose by time due to vibrations. As said earlier the foam where easier to work with, but also the foam rings could have been larger in the outer diameter. From a sound quality perspective the foam-ring would in theory sound better, since the less weight, and since that't what the whee originally equipped with. However I must say that it is absolutely

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now
So the answer is yes, but beware if you need to add a jumper wire to the circuit board when replacing the capacitor with a new component that only has two pins - the PCB design might rely on the two pins being connected together.
I´ve just checked the schematics and they are all normal electrolytic. 3000µF 50V. Thanks anyway Mika.
I would also get a far cheaper pre-amp.......... James Randi has offered $1,000,000 to anyone who can reliably differentiate such products - his money remains safe!
Good speech. There is to much snake oil out there!
I also have a couple of BL7000's that have fairly weak back lights. After reading this thread I decided to have a go at replacing the backlight as well as full recap and battery replacement on both BL7000's.
Very nice to see. As you mentioned, aligning the contact pads are the delicate thing in this operation.

God Jul.
