  • Re: Bang & Olufsen in 2019... Your predictions?

Hi Lee, I care :-) My first time back on here in maybe 5+ years. I was here on Beoworld in the beginning.... (2003?) I saw this latest question about predictions for 2019.... was relieved but upset to read that all my fears are actually shared among other life long fans.... I thought I was just getting old and grumpy. I've been turned off B&O for some time... even though my house is full of it, from the 70s + All the modern stuff... I say all, there's not that much is there.... is just

  • Beomedia Mystery

This has been frustrating me for months, ever since I first noticed. But, are there any dealers or engineers out there who can tell me why my Beomedia 1 has a mind of its own when it comes to audio channel allocation. I just made that up because there's no other way to describe this anomaly. Basically, has anyone got any experience of Beomedia swapping the channels L to R randomly? I've checked everything, other sources for reference like CD DVD PC etc... also checked / swapped cables. Seems

  • Re: Wow

As an owner of Beolab 5s in a modest sized room 20'x12' I can honestly say, BL90, don't want, don't need, don't like, don't fit :-) Over the years I've had Beovox MS150s, then Beolab Pentas, then the BL5s... I'm not telling you which of those were the best. I'm sure the BL90s are awesome to hear, but they just won't sell in huge numbers and that's that. Yes well done B&O for coming up with a product that even less people can afford and accommodate into

  • Re: New Beovision...no pin :(

All PIN coded items have a 5 (not 4) digit 'master code' associated with the serial number. Any dealer with access to the B&O community database can give you the 5 digit master unlock code. Up to them how when they do this. As long as it's not reported as stolen usually :-)

  • Re: Dealers no longer selling spares in UK???

Well I started this thread a few weeks ago in the hope of finding an answer so from the various replies, a few from dealers it would seem, then looks like B&O have decided that they want more of their classic systems to end up in 'Land-fill' which I would say doesn't look like a very good sustainability or 'green' policy. Maybe it is a safety issue which is fine. But I only service repair the easy stuff, belts, laser units, speaker (dreaded foams) etc. All I'm looking

  • Dealers no longer selling spares in UK???

I know that spares from dealers can be expensive and most often you need to take your equipment in for a quote and service etc... but come on, simple things, why have B&O stopped selling us replacement parts? Some good explanations though. For example, new drive units for Beolab 6000s, that they need to be installed by the service centre due to them needing to put the replacement units into the correct 'phase' ? BTW, does anyone have any spare Perspex covers for the Penta 3 display panels

  • Re: Help needed with beocenter 9500.

I noticed that if you also just leave the unit for a few hours then it appears to go away on it's own???

  • Beocenter 9500 'COde'

I have just replaced the CD mech on a BC9500 and it was working fine. However, I've now just tried it again and the Beocenter won't start up and just displays the word 'COde' for about 30 seconds then reverts to stand by. This is an early model 9500 (1992) and I think it's well before the introduction of PIN codes. In any case, the unit was in a box for months and powered up fine first time without needing to enter a code. The CD has unit has been changed once before and again

  • How much to pay for MMC Cartridge

Have just seen this item on ebay MMC20CL ebay item: 261292317717. Is this a fair price and worth the expense. I currently have an MMC20EN and MMC3000 that I've used on my Beogram 4002. Can this be improved with an upgrade?

  • Re: Keep your styluses clean

Thanks, all my LPs are pristine and do sound very good except for the ones that were pressed slightly off centre, as used to happen sometimes. And when you took them back to the shop and they played them and said, "what's your problem...?" mainly because there were no scratches etc and the old dear in the shop couldn't hear any 'wow' it used to annoy me endlessly :-( So I do look after my LPs and CDs but the CDs are much easier to rip to MP3s, which is what we all listen
