  • Re: Beomaster 5500 starts spontaneous

Low energy light bulbs can trigger remote commands up to a minute after being switched on. I have this trouble with my Beocenter 7002. Have you covered the sensor to eliminate external causes? John.

  • Red line speakers

I have found a pair of Red Line 60.2 6513 speakers, described as having no ABR, Is this a fault / reason for sale ? or is it how they were made? I need them to go with Beocenter 7000. They are wall mounted but I suppose I could find a pair of stands later.? Ps. I don' know anything about B&O Redline speakers so any information would be welcome. TFL John,

Original question was Trying to diagnose a non dropping tone arm on a BG4002. I would suspect hardened grease, clean and lubricate, Hopefully no meter required. John.

  • Re: Veneer transplantation

That is an excellent repair. You were lucky to have a spare piece of wood inside to use. John.

  • Re: Veneer transplantation

Looks like you have made a good match with the grain if the wood. The camera flash makes any different colours look more than they are. If it did want darkening you could put a dab of darker dye on it. A tip I have learnt is a slightly darker repair is not as noticeable as a light repair. I have repaired smaller damage with Wax repair sticks, Just melt it on with a solder iron. Let wax cool for 24hours before levelling off with a credit card. Level it any sooner and you risk it shrinking. John.

  • Beocenter 7 segment LED display faults

Plenty of faulty LED displays reported on the forum. How reliable are the actual LED segments? I ask this because 41years since I made an LED clock from "Practical Wireless" that has been in use every day since. Touch wood, all the LED segments are perfect. A lot of the Beocenter displays are only on for part of the time and I would expect them to last a lot longer than 41years. My Beocenter 7002 has one segment that does not light but only sometimes. I suspect a bad joint or most lightly

  • Re: Beocenter 7000 - Changing Belts

I suppose you have repaired it now, but if not. You need to lift both the turntable and radio sections "Remember to remove platter first and protect stylus. You will then be able to pull out the two plugs "Be careful not to damage the cable clips. The tape deck can be removed completely, Remember to replace the black earth lead. I don't know if any different belts would work. John.

  • Re: Beocenter 7002 VU indicator fault

I think I have cured problem with switch cleaner, just hope I have not spoken to soon. Both relays have part no 7600045 relay 6v. Two different relays were fitted, one had markings "Type C2V-2 6volts the other looked vey similar but height measurement was different, and no markings. Any one know coil resistance ? I know I should have measured when I was there. John.
