• Re: A ray of light in the middle of all this gloom
Sorry for my typo, its a BeoGram 6500 which has built in pre-amp. Works very nicely
What I would give for a BeoGram 6500 :) BTW what other decks had built in pre-amps? Listening to a Kate Bush album on the RX2, haven't heard that LP for over 20 years! Then I'm going to really treat myself and play my Art of Denis Brain Box set. Anybody know of him? Oh dear I forgot this is my son's BeoGram ;)

  • Re: Blurayplayer and PUC

The answer to the PUC question maybe could be to continue with the B&O approved set that comes from Struer. Also to allow dealers and customers to modify the originals and maybe write our own. As a dealer I can create new and customize existing Crestron, RTI, Control4 (to name but a few) IR drivers to control anything I like with relative ease. With B&O Puc control ( a great feature I must add ) I would love an easy way to create custom Pucs!! B&O , being control freaks, constantly rebuff
Wonderful horn player and his 1953 recordings with Karajan and the Philharmonia Orchestra of the Mozart Concertos is a classic and I don't think has ever been out of the catalogue. Cleve
Cleve, If you like his recordings of the Mozart Concertos, try his versions of the Richard Strauss horn concertos 1 & 2 Think Benjamin Britten wrote his serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings for Denis Brain . regards Andy

  • Re: Beovision 11

The BeoVision 11 is a great TV for sure. However do not buy it because of NL, useful video distribution from NL will never happen for reasons that have already been discussed. I cannot see Audio NL distribution will be any different to the network capabilities of any smart tv apart from the fact that the B&O devices may have some of party mode. We are now in the WAN streaming age and B&O are still obsessed with local networks. In the new streaming age the big corporations will control everything

  • Re: Beolab 3 Shutdown
Hi Michael, I am considering a BS5E... What problems did you have? Cheers, Jonathan
BeoLab3s are a great product. The BS5E however, has very limited appeal. The piles of them in the B&O stockrooms are testament to that. Good for you if you love the BS5E (it does have some plus points), but before you take the plunge ask your dealer for an extended home trail!!

  • Re: Beolab 3 Shutdown

Jonathan, No need to feel obliged if you take a trial. The fact you are unsure means it is a sensible course of action. If you love it enough to keep it that would be brilliant. Don't get me wrong some people love their BS5E's, but the sales figures of it have been very poor. That doesn't mean it won't be right for you though. let us know how you get on. Sorry for hijacking the original subject of this thread!

  • Re: A peek into the future of NL ...

In order to help dealers/customers B&O really should be giving more solid information about the proposed functionality of NL. As a perspective purchaser of B&O I, for one, would be very reluctant to part with a load of my hard earned cash without any certainty of how my purchase would interact with future products. This rumor mill I do find rather tiresome, B&O as wonderful as they are do have a track record of promising a lot and then letting us down, BS5E for example. So until I see

  • Re: Share price drop?
UK seems to have a mixture of franchised dealers and dealerships directly owned by B&O UK. The directly owned dealerships are, I believe, former franchises that failed to meet targets and were handed back under the terms of the franchise contracts. So in the case of the latter, B&O will have been in receipt of a funded operation, albeit with committed running and premises leasing costs. Leases often run on a 7 year basis, and at the end of the 7 years landlords

  • Re: Share price drop?
It's not just the losses that are the issue. A company that works closely with mine is advising B&O on its cash flow. The actual losses (as opposed to the predicted profit) are of course connected to cash flow but liquidity is key to survival and b&o have some issues which i understand may impact on s,e of the new product developments which is a real shame.
Pushkin, it is often said that bad cash flow to a business is like a heart attack. In your

  • Re: Share price drop?
When looking into the numbers it would appear that audio (speakers - automotive and consumer) are core and can make money but video is not a winner (ironic given most seem to feel their TVs are uncompetitive in terms of price). Will be interesting to see whether the company recognise this and focus on its strengths.
Since B&O loudspeakers are rarely sold to people with non-B&O TVs or Music Systems, if they pull the plug on TV production it will surely
