• Re: CONFUSED ABOUT 28s vs 50s?!!!

If you have a car with top speed 180km/h it would not matter to have 4 same car’s to achieve 300km/h top speed. It is just not happening. No matter how many bl28’s you add your setup they will not produce low frequency effect’s with force. Did some field research today. Running with same source and avr pair of 50’s and pair of 28’s. Both connected to Denon x4500 and lossless Atmos demo’s from Nvidia Shield. Stereo without subwoofer/xt32 and full band. Amaze: Below
Can your receiver manage latency?
I have not yet seen any modern receiver that cannot manage delay/latency. However there can be problems to have this 100% correct and not even Geoff's fine tables would not solve these. Example Denon/Marantz receiver's with Audyssey room correction maximum distance to speaker is 18 meters. 18 meters is more than enough needed for bl28's approx 11 meter/31ms or bl50's 9 meter/25ms. BUT Audyssey has a limitation

A littlebit investigation. It seems that bl28's will remember last listening mode. Last evening last setting was manually to narrow@airplay and today with tv they opened wide. I have made my own listening mode from "optimal" with only change narrow to wide. With this tv always starts with wide. If I change to optimal then everything is narrow. But if using my own listening mode and airplay and just change wide to narrow it will remember that for some time for airplay. with longer time
If I hook these 28s up to a Marantz receiver using the pre-outs how does the motorized grills work exactly? Do they close on power down? Do they automatically go to the wide or narrow setting from the last power state? Can I only control this from the B&O app? I assume they just stay the way the are all the time unless I tell the app to change them which is a disappointment.
I think that they are mostly opening for wide. And definately

  • Re: BL 28 - Excellent 'Tech Info' Guide

I would love if this 28's Technical Information Guide could be updated to cover also technical parts like amps, dacs etc just like 50's and 90's guides. So wont be reason to take apart new speakers to see what they have been eating. I am also curious about that 0-100 volume range.
