  • Re: connect 2 HDMI cables to 2 Mac Minis to Beovision 8-40

Johan thank you for your idea. I think I will try this. I just need a monitor to peruse, remove or shift files from an old Mac mini to another location. This should work well. I will report back. many thanks paddy2042

  • connect 2 HDMI cables to 2 Mac Minis to Beovision 8-40

Am I able to connect a second Mac mini to my Beoviision 8-40 using HDMI cable? I use the main Mac mini, connected via HDMI as 'PC'. If I can use a second computer and HDMI what would I call it? Many thanks paddy

Thank you I will try it. I have already experimented but I realise I need another mouse and keyboard before I can use both. I don't think you can use a single mouse and keyboard to work both computers.

  • Re: Cannot access digital Radio

Yes it worked until I connected the Beosound 9000 and all stations are tuned correctly. I think the problem was that there were two radios: one in the Beosound 9000 and one in the Beocentre 2. I think I had to disconnect something so that the system would not try to turn both on when I pressed Radio on the Beo4. I also think there is a problem as both the Beosound 9000 in the link room plays Cd's and so does the Beocentre 2 and so there was a conflict there. This was setup so long ago I have

  • Cannot access digital Radio

I have BV8 master with BC2 with a DAB radio and a Beosound 9000 in a link room. When I press radio on the remote I can only access the radio on the beosound 9000. I use the beosound 9000 for analogue radio and playing Cd's. I use the Beocentre 2 for playing DVD's. Even when I press radio on the BC2 front panel it registers on the BC2 display but nothing happens and there is no sound output. Is anyone able to help me to be able to play the DAB radio of the BC2 Many thanks paddy2042

  • No surround sound or sound through subwoofer

I have a BV8 with four speakers connected - 2 x BL8000's in front and 2 x BL6000's in rear and a BL19 subwoofer. I mainly play music through iTunes (lossless) and watch movies on either DVD or mainly Netflix or free to air TV. I notice that there seems to be almost nothing coming out of either the rear speakers or the sub. Should they be noticeable using these sources? If so what may the problem be? I have set them up according to the directions as far as I remember but they seem like a waste

  • Re: Beosound 9000 clamper dropped to bottom. Now unit won't work

Jeff thank you so much for your suggestion. As soon as you mentioned it I remembered reading somewhere years ago about cleaning these prisms. I cleaned with alcohol and now it is working again. Thank you so much. You saved me lots of money in repairs. paddy

I thought someone may have some knowledge of this machine but I guess it is too old for those in this forum to be familiar with. I guess a repairman may be the answer. paddy2042

  • Beosound 9000 clamper dropped to bottom. Now unit won't work

I have Beosound 9000 that I use as CD player and Radio and link to my music on Mac ()unit Av. Aux) I was playing a CD the other day and the sound stopped and I found the clamper at the bottom (it normally returns to the top if there is a problem.) I am thinking the belt drive has probably broken or something like that. Any ideas. paddy2042

  • cat 7 between room and subwoofer

I have two rooms connected with cat 7 and wall plugs at various points along it. This is to allow a master unit like Beosound 9000 to connect and be moved into several rooms. In the main room I have a BeoCenter 2 and BV8-40 which is the Master. I have BL8000's and BL19 connected to TV. Can I unplug subwoofer from TV and plug into one of these wall sockets (within the same room obviously) that go from room to room? Will the sub get the right signals from the TV or does it have to be plugged directly
