  • Re: Beosystem 4

Thank you very much for confirming this MM! You are completely right. Since more than 8 years I am running the BL5 in a stereo set up and I barely have heard the subwoofers playing! To me it seems that these are barely used. Ok for music they are used and it is beautiful but for movies I mean I would like to have some more kick in the bass . Perhaps one last question relating to software support and maintenance of the Beosystem 4. The unit for sale is from 2017 and will hopefully last for a lot of

  • Re: Beosystem 4

Thank you all very much for your answer. Much appreciated! This is what I was hoping for. The Beosystem will allow me to create a decent 3.0 or 5.0 sound with the BL5 taking the .1 channel. I presume that this is also the case for people using a Beovision TV. If you are using BL5 or BL 50 as front speakers with a Beovision or Beosystem 3/4 there is no need any more for a dedicated sub (BL2) I presume. Has any of you tried this or does an additional sub make no sense anymore with these speakers?

  • Beosystem 4

Hi guys, just a couple of small questions on the Beosystem 4 which I intend to buy. The Beosystem would be coupled to 2 Beolab 5 speakers and a Beolab 7 center speaker. Over time I would then add 2 rear speakers. Input would be a blu ray player and hdmi out to a projector. My questions: 1/ Is it possible to obtain a decent 3.2 sound with these speakers? Over time a decent 5.0 sound without needing an additional subwoofer for the .1 channel? With that I mean full activation of the subwoofers just

  • Re: Any Axiim Link with Beolab experiences to share?

I would like to know if latency issues also would exist in this set-up with an xbox console as base? If anybody could report on that - that would be great.

  • Beolab 18 & 19 move to Beolab 5?

To Jeff: Totally agree with that. Even my wife likes them a lot. Before the BL5 I had JBL K2 series 4800 with 2 15 inch woofers in front. Magnificent sounding speakers especially for jazz. But pizzas she called them. They are gone and no regrets with BL5 since then. Replacing them will be difficult. BL50 and BL 90 are not really my taste. As long as they keep playing I am happy

  • Lg Oled c9 77 going back

In Belgium the quality of Netflix decreased to a lower level since the Covid crisis. The measure was implemented at the request/order of the European Commission. More bandwith was needed for teleworking instead of television use. I have a 75 4K Sony screen, nothing fancy, but I did immediately notice the quality decrease. Thanks Europe for setting us back 10 years . Now that said HD is still pretty good and after some weeks you don’t notice it anymore. Perhaps that could explain one and another in

  • Re: Use BL5 digital input for streamer

I know what you are looking for but it does not exist. I have been there as well. So you better use the BL5 via a digital input and listen to music with these. Powerlink is no comparison for music. In my opinion, for surround sound you don’t need such large speakers. A good sub and some small speakers are equally good.

  • Re: Will B&O ever serve classical listeners better?

Hello, yes my collection is ripped in ALAC. I have been ripping in that format since more then 10 years and don’t regret it. Listened to high res but was not convinced that’s worth the additional effort. Convenience with alac was the key driver. Most devices can handle alac without manipulation (for instance my car). I stream towards an airport express linked to my Beolab 5 (optical to coax conversion via a small box behind the TV wall) and it works perfect. My pentas are fed with an analogue signal

That’s what I am doing. The arrival of the iPhone 512 GB 2 years ago just came at the right time, when I got bored by Sonos and the streaming services with regard to good classic recordings. I have tried Qobuz, Deezer and Apple music subscriptions but remained unsatisfied for classical music. Since then I have restarted using iTunes ( I know it’s not perfect) with as result now 500 GB of losless quality recordings in my pocket, wherever I go. I have restarted buying and ripping albums and don’t regret
