  • Beolab 6000 prices

I've been noticing that the prices of Beolab 6000s have been dropping lately. For the longest time they were 800-1200 USD, then about 2017 the average seemed to drop to about 650. In the past year 2018 I've seen a few for 450-475. These are supposedly in decent condition, at least in the photos. Some need new drivers, others appear OK. Any thought as to why prices have plummeted? Beolab 8000, on the other hand has been strong and steady. About 1300 a while back and it hasn't seemed to

regarding speaker variety: i've noticed that, too. however, to me, the line up seems less "distinct" in each model's concept and appearance. the avant 32 was a true flagship tv back in '99.

Kannst du die Fernbedienung ausschließen? Batterien gut? Sie können die IR-Strahler bei abgedunkelten Bedingungen blinken sehen.

  • Re: Beolab Penta vs Beovox Redline 140 / RL 7000

i have both. the pentas have a lot more power behind them but if the rls are being driven by a 6500/7000 then power is also excellent, too. both are one of only a few b&o speakers that decend to 40 hz.

i have the stands. along one of the short edges near the corner you'll see the DIN speakerlink connector. that side should be "down" so if you had speakerlink cable it would attach up into the unit. the bang olufsen name plate then reads vertically near the bottom IIRC. woofers on top. there should be an adjustment screw in the stand that lets you "dial in" the tilt from 90 deg vert to angled upwards. mine are at 90-ish. are you using speakerlink or the original coiled speaker

  • Re: BO north american market activity

i've spoken w hermit through email but never stopped in. bo carefully selects their authorized service centers and those locations basically get a"monopoly" on that region's potential service dollars. so it's a mystery why one would close. and with no outlined replacement, even stranger.

  • BO north american market activity

Don't know if this is the right section or not but: Anyone have news/information with what's going on with North America's corporate division? In Chicago there was one remaining shop-in-shop B2 for the entire metro area. Was like this for many years but worked ok. Over the holidays I found out the B2 shut down just a few weeks ago (supposedly due to disputes between the retailer and BOA). Now, Chicago has zero physical retailers which is kind of BOA's "backyard" market region

so, just to chime in here, that awesome glass building that was built around 98/99 is now being emptied? i still have the original literature they sent out detailing the architecture of that building. i really liked the glass floored hall way--

  • shipping without transport screws?

i just bought a CD 6500. the unit arrived UPS without the transport screws locked in place. i normally ask this of the seller but i saw he had experience with the product so it didn't occur to me or i forgot-- anyhow i've gone over the unit and all the basic mechanical things seem ok, tray, disc reading, track advance, etc. haven't had a chance to hook it up to listen to it yet though. from what i know the screws basically prevent the cd mechanism from banging up against itself under
