  • Re: New 2013 S-class Mercedes NO Bang & Olufsen sound system?

It's the 2014 model year, not 2013, and it's chassis "W222". B&O is being dropped as an option for that series but will still be offered on other line ups. Burmester is much more fitting as that brand is truly one of the highest of the high end companies. And MB is trying to integrate a "super high end feel" into the W222 since the Maybach is being discontinued. From what i've seen the burmester looks to be much more integrated into the car, at least from a visual

  • BO north american market activity

Don't know if this is the right section or not but: Anyone have news/information with what's going on with North America's corporate division? In Chicago there was one remaining shop-in-shop B2 for the entire metro area. Was like this for many years but worked ok. Over the holidays I found out the B2 shut down just a few weeks ago (supposedly due to disputes between the retailer and BOA). Now, Chicago has zero physical retailers which is kind of BOA's "backyard" market region

  • shipping without transport screws?

i just bought a CD 6500. the unit arrived UPS without the transport screws locked in place. i normally ask this of the seller but i saw he had experience with the product so it didn't occur to me or i forgot-- anyhow i've gone over the unit and all the basic mechanical things seem ok, tray, disc reading, track advance, etc. haven't had a chance to hook it up to listen to it yet though. from what i know the screws basically prevent the cd mechanism from banging up against itself under

  • Re: Beocenter 2500 to amp output

thanks, steve. to clarify, one powerlink line could provide signal for one stereo amp (one single stereo chassis). if you wanted to go to monoblocks would you then use both powerlink outs, feeding left and right amps? would you have to assign one powerlink out to be "left" and the other "right? as they carry left and right simultaneously--?

  • Beocenter 2500 to amp output

This question is for a Beocenter 2500, but would also apply to the 2300/3000/4000/3200 units: if you want to use the piece with a conventional amp and speakers (the horror!) how would you set this up, how would this be routed? is the signal coming from the aux jack then fed into the amp? In regards to a beosystem 6500/7000: is it possible to have a non b&o amp and speakers connected (full system functionality but with a larger outboard amp)?

  • Re: BO north american market activity

i've spoken w hermit through email but never stopped in. bo carefully selects their authorized service centers and those locations basically get a"monopoly" on that region's potential service dollars. so it's a mystery why one would close. and with no outlined replacement, even stranger.

  • Re: Beolab Penta vs Beovox Redline 140 / RL 7000

i have the stands. along one of the short edges near the corner you'll see the DIN speakerlink connector. that side should be "down" so if you had speakerlink cable it would attach up into the unit. the bang olufsen name plate then reads vertically near the bottom IIRC. woofers on top. there should be an adjustment screw in the stand that lets you "dial in" the tilt from 90 deg vert to angled upwards. mine are at 90-ish. are you using speakerlink or the original coiled speaker

  • Beolab 6000 prices

I've been noticing that the prices of Beolab 6000s have been dropping lately. For the longest time they were 800-1200 USD, then about 2017 the average seemed to drop to about 650. In the past year 2018 I've seen a few for 450-475. These are supposedly in decent condition, at least in the photos. Some need new drivers, others appear OK. Any thought as to why prices have plummeted? Beolab 8000, on the other hand has been strong and steady. About 1300 a while back and it hasn't seemed to

  • Beosound 2000/Ouverture sound quality?

Just bought a used, but good shape Beosound 2000. A couple of questions for long time owners of this model: 1. How is the bass response supposed to be on this piece? I'm finding it surprisingly "flat" even on electronic music and with the bass frequencies boosted to max. A brief Google search turns up some similar feelings. I remember hearing the 2000 in the stores when it was being produced and I don't remember it sounding that way. For rough comparison the Beosystem 2500 is quite

  • Re: B&O announces sale of the 20 years old ‘Gården’

so, just to chime in here, that awesome glass building that was built around 98/99 is now being emptied? i still have the original literature they sent out detailing the architecture of that building. i really liked the glass floored hall way--
