  • Beomaster 2000 gets (too?) hot

Apart from the dial cord seemingly be broken my recently acquired BM2000, when delivering nice sounds through my S-45's, turns out to get very hot (heatsinks). Is that normal/acceptable?

  • BC 1800 (reel) freeing from wooden frame

In order to get acces to the pcb's of my BC1800 I schould have ro remove the 4 rubber feet from the bottom according to a German sm version and then the bottom plate should come loose; by doing this 4 nuts fell into the interior but the bottom plate is not to be removed because of numerous kind of nails (no screws). Is this a standard thing or some custom solution. Hoping there are still vintage lovers around to help me out, regards Aad

  • Re: BC2000 de Luxe R-R)

Gentlemen, Question 1 is hereby answered: I was assuming that I did the lub and cleaning 2 years ago before replacing the 2000 by my 1200 to play my tapes; obviously not (pic). Heads and slack absorbers gave off a nice brown stuff using a q-tip that impies that the slightest drag causes the problem. Question2 to remains as asked. I wish you could hear now Clifford Brown blowing off my whiskeyglass from the bookshelf while I am continuing reading Søren's thread.

  • BC2000 de Luxe R-R)

After a successfull replacement of my BC1200's drive belts, with much appreciated help from Martin and Søren some time ago I dare to open up my BC 2000 de Luxe to try to make it run according to the user manual. The problem is the speeds. 19 cm/sec : seems to do it well (I have no recordings on tape with this selection. 9 1/2 cm/sec: starts slowly but after a while I recognize the music as reproduced by the originating LP. 4 3/4 : refuses to move FF and RW perform well. Question 1, of

  • Re: Beomaster 1700 blown output stage

It is because of a matter of me being wellmannered enough to still react on your suggestion, although I am about to kick the BM1700 to the recycling heap: I have hesitated quite some time before I dared to power up this thing: within a fraction of a second I burnt my fingertip on one of the big R's. ( heatsink attached again). How will I be able to measure the no-load current without blowing the output stage again? What did I miss after replacing the power R's, IC's, T's and testing
