  • Beosound Century foam rot

Hello I'm refurbishing a Century. The speaker boxes have rotten foam. I have new foam but can't seem to get the speakers apart. I looks like 2 abs plastic pieces are glued together. Any insight into how this is done? Can access the compartment for the bass driver but not the foam under the tweeter.

Well. Put in a new fuse. The light was orange. Flipped the 220v power connector when inserting it in the wall socket. Now it works fine and I've been using them a lot without problems. Very wierd. I'll keep an eye on the speaker going forward. Thanks.

Hello Bought a set of beolabs Penta mk1 a couple of weeks ago. Was working fine but needed some love. Changed out foam surround of all mid-range speakers. Bought re-cap kits for cross overs and aplifiers from dillen. Everything has been working fine since fixing everything. Been using them for about 15 hours since. Transported them to their final home earlier today and after that the amplifier in the left speaker has suddenly decided not to work. Only gives a orange light. The screen in the speaker

uptdate: So everything is great. Ordered re-cap kit for crossover & amplifiers from Dillen. All this is sorted and every works as intended. Amplifiers needed the kit since several capacitors was in really bad shape. Also changed out surrounds for all the midrange speakers. Beocenter 9500 is now working. Tape deck is working fine after changing the belts. CD player had a defective cd-mainboard. Changed over the cd drive and board from a 8500 donor unit. Waiting for a used bass driver from ebay

  • Beocenter 9500 & Beolab Penta 1 questions

Hello New member today. Bought my first B&O setup ever yesterday. Ended up with a Beocenter 9500 and Beolab Penta Mk1. Connected the system when i got home yesterday and i love it so far. Everything not working: 1. CD drive is not working. CD cover works fine and the cd spins up. Then the 9500 goes into standby. I've read on the old forums that this could be because of a bad capacitor. So i've ordered spares for changing this out. 2. Cassette deck is not working. All the rubber belts
