  • Re: 9000 CD player question

Ended up being the axle through the middle of the lifting motor gears had come adrift and allowed the gears to move out of mesh. Took a bit of sorting to get the axle back in properly and then devise a way to make it stay there. All good.

  • Re: Beosound 9000 CD player outputs

Thanks Bill. So three ways to get outputs from a 9000? 1. 1/8th headphone jack. 2. Powerlink to B&O speakers or special cable from Powerlink to RCA plugs. 3. Digital RCA output to converter and then to analogue signal

  • Re: B&O equipments not responding to BEO4/5 remotes, help

So as a follow up and closure to this thread regarding a non operational remote for the Beosound 9000. Last week I pulled the unit apart to take a look and see if I could manage to get to the PCB14 IR receiver board which is located in the bottom of the machine, basically under Disc 6. I managed to extract the board and very carefully removed the three capacitors from the board that I deduced were likely to be the problem culprits. One is a standard aluminium capacitor but the other two are tiny

Thanks for the reply. So is the output actually still digital that would need converting before feeding into a SONOS or is it actually analogue

  • Beosound 9000 CD player outputs

Hi Guys. Looking for some clarification on the outputs under my 9000. Obviously a Masterlink ML series, two powerlinks for the speakers, another 8 pin DIN style which is a input for an Aux or Tape player, and then there is the single RCA which I think might be a digital out signal. B&O call it 'digital' but I think this is also commonly known as an RCA 'coax'? With the digital out, I've never used this single style of RCA plug, but I presume that this carries a signal which

  • Re: Controlling Beosound 9000 CD from Beolab 3500.

Yep, I think a new IR board is on the cards. There's a place here in Melbourne who can do it. Once the IR is working, can you see any reason why the 3500 cannot operate with the 9000 and a pair of 8000's in the same room. I like the 3500 hanging on the wall giving a bit of background sound in my office, and then when you want to punch it, just lift the volume and the 8000's come into play. In your experience, with the 9000 in the correct mode, will the 3500 control all three volumes?

On my two later model remotes I did the 2002 thing and both were already in Link Off mode. I turned them both on and then both off. BUT... On my older remote that come with the 9000, I go into config and then 2002 and nothing happens at all. Seems a different command is needed for the older remote.

Thanks Guy. So if you have a 3500 setup in another room, I was pretty sure that you can control the speaker volume in the main room as well as the 3500 volume. The 3500 User Guide alludes to this a anumber of times also.

  • Re: Controlling Beosound 9000 CD from Beolab 3500.

Yes, been going on for a few weeks now. When I got the 9000 the seller said he hadn't used the remote. More's the point in that I think it didn't work. So I took my remote to a mates place and operated everything in his house perfectly. Then I bought his remote home and tried it on my 9000 to no effect. With the help of a few blokes here I tried a number of different programming options using my Beo4 but never once did I get a light flash to indicate my 9000 receives commands. I've

Thanks Guy, so therein lies an issue. The IR receiver on my 9000 has failed which is a primary reason for wanting the 3500 to control it. I can't talk to the 9000 by remote. I wonder if there is a button combination that you can set the options from the onboard control panel of the 9000.
