• Re: Roon Labs – Who is using it and how?
What are you missing and what would be the advantages of a build-in RAAT support over the Airplay/Cast as endpoint?
In my eyes the biggest advantage for B&O would be, that RAAT can handle multi-channel streaming (see https://kb.roonlabs.com/Multichannel ). For example based on RAAT protocol B&O could develop a soundbar that could stream in sync to additional WLAN loudspeakers to enable a surround set-up similar as Sonos is offering with its soundbare

I do not know what threat to use. Roon labs support by B&O would be really great in my eyes. A) On one hand I do not know, if it makes sense for B&O. Due to the possibility that license fees have to be paid to Roon Labs and how complicated (= development costs) it is to integrate RAAT (= Streaming protocol of Roon) besides Airplay and Chromecast into the B&O devices. B) On the other hand brands like Bowers&Wilkins or BlueSound are offering Roon additionally to Airplay. Would be interesting

I expect, that when you invest nearly 4,000.00 Euro in two Beosound 2 that you get more than just a loudspeaker with a nice shaped metal case.
If you dislike the app so much, use the Beoremote 1 or the deezer app instead.
Certainly there are many work arounds to minimise the usage of the B&O app. Besides using the Deezer app and streaming via Airplay, I can use my ancient LMS (Logitech Media Server) offering a more thought through user concept than the
which speakers are you controlling with the app?
I bought two Beosound 2. I like the really special design of these loudspeaker compared to the competition. The easy and straight design, no frills following the Bauhaus design concept. And the love of the designer to details like the LED at the top of the lens, integrated volume control wheel on the top and the touch control or „touch to join“, very simple and user orientated. The total opposite

A good user experience and the love to details seems not to be the goal of the B&O app developers. A strange attitude for a company that tries to place themselves as a high price design / lifestyle company on the market. Or how could it be, some selected examples (and there are many other examples): - you need two apps to select a new Deezer Mixe, besides B&O app you need additional the Deezer app - there is no split view and slide over (even so you have to work with two apps parallel to
