• Re: MCL to ML

How does this differ from the 1611? Beoworld description says " This kit was required should one wish to maintain an existing MCL link system but wanted to upgrade to an ML based audio system. My Avant is an ML based video system? David

  • MCL to ML

B&O manufactured the beolink video type 1615 so that an MCL video product can work in a Master link system. They also made the beolink converter type 1611 so that an MCL audio product can work in a Master link system. I need to do it the other way round i.e. connect an ML video product to an MCL link room (MCL2AV). I find the 1611 converter is not fully functional in this respect as the setup is non-standard. Can anyone provide me with an interface to make it work? Problems are: delay in responses

  • Re: Beoport

Thanks for this. If the graphics card is the video feed for the TV I assume only one TV can be used - or can this be viewed on link TV's also? I can see how audio distribution would work via ML but how would you be able to navigate the system for e.g. from a link room without being able to see the the same interface that is presented on the PC? You would also need additional RF cable from the PC to the TV.

  • Beoport

Beoport does not have an Video output so how is Beoplayer presented on the TV screen for navigation?

  • Re: Beolink Video Type 1615

Stefan, I tried a Beolink video and there was no control at all to either audio or video link sources, The TV would not come out of standby. This converter must be ML>MCL only and not the other way round. So barring some sort of home made interface I don't think there's another option. David

  • Re: Beolink Video Type 1615

I will try to obtain a 1615. I notice that Jakob also has a powerlink cable (shown on his diagram) in addition to datalink between his 9300 and 1611. I do not. What function does the PL perform? I have tried a PL between my MCL2AV and 1611 in the link room and it made no difference. Should a PL cable be mounted between my BC9500>1611>ML (BV8-40)? If I run the config guide it says not."No powerlink may be mounted between the Beolink converter and audio master" Thanks again and I will

  • Re: Avant 32 Link compatibility

V.OPT 5 and L.OPT 1 still enable control but audio sources have to be prefixed with "AV". AV-V.TAPE gives silence/faint buzzing noise as before. Pressing AV-RADIO when the TV is on sends the Avant into standby. AV-RADIO with the LX enables you to listen to the radio while watching TV. I tried connecting the BL6000 directly to the MCL2AV unit and got no signal - only a loud buzzing noise. Video distribution is via an RF link amplifier. David

    >>Sorry, it`s been a long time, but I didn`t forget this little test... << Thanks for your tenacity and patience! >>I`d try to set the MCL2 AV to L.OPT 0 and disconnect the transceiver. All IR controling should lead through your link-BV (Avant). BTW: I don`t understand, why you have to press AV and at the same time hold Timer button on the transceiver. Usually in an MCL setup you simply mute the sound and press Stdby to shut down the link-BV. This should work in your setup...(?

  • Re: Avant 32 Link compatibility
Standby mode of the MCL2 AV should be triggered via Datalink through the link Beovision...(??) Does Standby system work? AV-A.AUX is A.AUX in videomode. This should open the TV/AUX socket. This should happen if you select a video source on your link BV....(??) Are there Beolabs connected to MCL 2 AV ? Stefan
Standby system works but I prefer local (link room only) standby which I have set at the moment. I see no way of setting this without the tranceiver as
