• Re: V8000 sudden loss of picture

Thanks. Would the pinch roller wear out suddenly? The unit has been in use for many hours without fault in recent days.

Tested with different scart leads and sockets. It was in full working order and used for many hours without fault immediately prior to this.

  • V8000 sudden loss of picture

All scarts are properly connected and fully working then total loss of picture. Sound is working as normal. Tapes play fine on a V6000 so no issues with them. Any suggestions?

I would like to record from the built in DVD player on an Avant 32 to an HDR1. Can this be done?

Thanks. Yes I am getting to know it now and connected it as above. The only reason for not doing was I had a link product as V.MEM and found it easier to assign the hard button command to that. I've swapped them now and pressing V.MEM twice brings up the source menu on the HDR1. The V8000/HDR1 also work well together but I have no analogue other than the link frequency.

  • Re: Beocord V8000 no picture

I have exactly the same problem. Tried a different scart. All working fine until very recently and used a lot. Sound plays fine but no picture at all. Before the picture went there was a lot of interference, like a tracking error. The same tape played perfectly last time without tracking adjustment. Looks like an engineer job.
The manual says Pressing V MEM will bring up the SELECT SOURCE menu on the screen. (On some Beo4 remote controls, the V MEM button is called V TAPE). Stoobie
Problem solved. It is V.MEM > RECORD to bring up the source menu. Different commands with some TV's apparently.

Thanks. Yes I studied the manual. I don't have it attached to the V.MEM socket, as I use this for something else. The HDR is connected to the AV scart and named V.Tape 2. The source menu does come up, then promptly disappears. It otherwise works fine as V.MEM 2 but I will have to experiment to see if this is the problem.

I have a recently acquired HDR1 connected to an Avant 32DVD. The idea is to archive old VHS/hi8 footage. I would like to know how to force the "select source" menu to appear. What happens is that on first start up it appears for a few seconds but then reverts to the main menu just in the time it takes for the Avant screen to appear. There seems to be no way of forcing it to reappear as it is not available from the main menu. I am also interested to know how to record from the Avant's
