  • Re: BeoLab 18 + BeoLab 19 bass management

My understanding from everyone's responses to my question is that there are two options: 1) Purchase a Transmitter 1 and use the Core with the BL18+19 setup on WISA through the Transmitter 1. You will turn the Low Pass Filter on the BL19 off as the Transmitter 1 will automatically control bass management and set a crossover frequency. (The frequency is set to 120Hz, which seems high but that's how it works. I've never listened to this setup so I can't comment on how it sounds.) 2

I thought the S8 set was actually intended to be used with a NON-B&O television, which is why it includes the S8 Connection Hub, whose purpose is to allow control of the volume with a non-B&O TV and remote. If you don't like the sound, Poly, that's one thing and is perfectly fine. But if you dislike the sound, I don't believe it's because you're using the product incorrectly (if in fact you have the S8 speaker set connected to the S8 Connection Hub connected to a non-B&O

Ah, if the speakers initially sold without the Hub, then that’s news to me. Thanks for the correction.

  • Re: Beolab 4000 with BL11 or BL17 alone?

You will find no shortage of forum friends touting BL17 as amazing, myself included. For their size, they’re unusually good. Yes, BL18 is prettier but the bass is not there. The BL18 may be better for off-axis listening due to ALT and may have a slightly more crisp treble but that’s not even clear. BL17 is amazing.

  • Re: Sound quality question: Eclipse/powerlink with BL50 vs BS Core/optical...

I get it. Just note that if you use the Toslink output, the Node 2i won’t fully render MQA. You’ll be limited to a max of 96/24. To get 192/24, you’ll have to use the RCA outputs (which will introduce an additional conversion step relative to keeping the source digital with Toslink). Let us know what you think! I really liked the Node 2i. Bluesound is very slick.

  • Re: Beolab 50, best input?

We are so lucky to have you, Geoff. As if you didn’t work hard enough during your day job, you give us your time here. We are very appreciative. Thanks for all you do—in and out of the office! Happy New Year! BTW, Geoff’s comments to me essentially say there are far too many questions about the influences of sources, other components and the recordings themselves to answer this question clearly. Also, one part of the answer is about quantifiable measurements and “more”

  • Re: Eclipse or Harmony?

But there was no hardware changes the sound center for this, right Miki? It’s just that a buyer can use either of those three panels interchangeably. Right?

  • Re: PowerLink RJ45, Supra Cat8 Cable

I just googled and for those in the US, these are available on eBay from a seller in Seattle. FYI.

  • Re: Eclipse or Harmony?

If my needs are for a 55”, then there’s no choice. But if I wanted a 65”, Harmony all the way. I wish they made a 55” Harmony.
