  • Re: Beoremote Halo, the future B&O remote control

I got it in Bing, too. This is a beautiful piece! I’m little unclear about how it will get power, however. ” USB-C/DC 5-30 V/Ethernet (PoE)” So the wall will have to be pre-drilled to accommodate it, whereas a Moment remote can take a replaceable battery and just be affixed anywhere on a wall. Bummer.

Word must have gotten out that the test product pages had leaked publically. Everything appears shutdown now. It was a great peek at the Halo and H95, though! No harm intended, B&O. We’re all just superfans eager to see what’s coming next. :)

  • Re: Lossless streaming: Can you really hear a difference?

Here’s a pertinent and recent discussion in this topic. https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/42885/312042.aspx#312042 My experience was that steaming TIDAL MQA to my BL18 vía a Bluesound Node 2i sounded the same to me as steaming TIDAL non-MQA.

That is funny! Well, they offer the wood and aluminum as well as the cloth on the Harmony! This is why! :) I appreciate what Michael said on the toned down, no pun intended, aesthetics. Good point. To each their own! I’m sure they sound amazing. Looks are subjective.

Helpful, everyone. Thanks. My situation is that I already have the 18s, which I got an insanely good price on, and I could get a 19 for a fraction of retail. Meanwhile, getting 20s would be a much more expensive proposition AND, while subjective, it must be said, I think they’re kind of ugly. Nowhere near the 18s. No wood. Barely any aluminum. Just a bunch of black fuzzy cloth. Not my cup of tea but for a tremendous improvement in sound, maybe I’d get used to them. Really what I want

Yes, the allure of having a simple 2.0 system (really a 2.2) consisting of two speakers that are each full range is what draws me to the BL20 despite its design shortcomings, in my opinion, relative to BL18. I admire the 20s from a technical standpoint. A 10” driver in each tower! Amazing! I think few other manufacturers offer something similar. They exist but likely for much more money including outboard amplification (e.g., B&W 800 D3). i just can’t get past the looks. To me, B&O

I would like to revive this thread and ask if anyone has had recent experience in comparing sound between the BL18+19 and the BL20. in November, I listened to each at the Boston store and actually preferred the 18+19 combo at that time, recalling that the highs sounded more crisp and pleasant to me. But I have been living with a 10” powered subwoofer in my family’s non-B&O 5.1 system and the bass is great. For the price on the secondary market of about USD$7,000, a pair of BL20 seems

My pleasure, sir. The forum has been supremely helpful to me. I’m trying to pay it forward. if you were the one inquiring about whether to trade in the Core for the Node 2i in your BL50 system, I would give the Node 2i a try because the Core is incapable of delivering 192/24 to your BL50s. If you can hear the difference and it’s an improvement, keep it. If not, then perhaps keep the Core and return the Bode 2i?

Greetings! a) I have gone completely digital streaming at this point. I ripped all my CDs to my computer and recycled them so I no longer own physical discs. Frankly, I thought I was doing myself a favor by reducing clutter and ushering myself into the better-than-CD-quality high-rez journey. b) Indeed, I can try that. In fact, perhaps I will! But on the other hand, if I have to "listen critically" (i.e., sit in a room alone, with the door closed and concentrate on discerning differences
