• Re: What Are You Working On Now

I have just been fixing the two-way function in my mint BL5000 - one that I have kept safely in a box for quite some time! I used Leslie's excellent notes here: https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/9016/89803.aspx#89803 and MartinM's photos from the old forum here: https://archivedforum.beoworld.org/members/MartinM/files/Beolink5000_5F00_1b.jpg.aspx To be honest my soldering isn't the best - shaky hands and no confidence whatsoever! It was made more tricky because the screen is superglued
If it shows the time on the back of the display when you press CONTROL, you have a CLOCK version with different buttons. There is no negotiation whether it should use CONTROL or CLOCK. Only BS6500/7000 supports CONTROL to my knowledge.
Having just replaced the capacitors and restored the 2-way IR on my 'genuine' CONTROL-version BL5000, I can now get the time showing by pressing SHIFT STATUS, as mentioned in some very old threads. Unlike the CLOCK-version

I have experience that problem with B&O tuners. It is easily resolved by using one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081TV82Q1/ref=twister_B081TSHZFS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, great work whoever fixed it! I lost a couple of posts hence assume that it has been restored to an earlier time, but good to see it back up and running. Thanks Keith et al

Thanks Weebyx - I am pretty sure that this is the case. I did fit some new top plate buttons (courtesy of Leslie) when I first got the remote, but I don't think I replaced the ones on the underside. I did also dig out my

Beoworld's Leslie actually sent me a set of buttons a long time ago, but I only remember swapping out the top panel. Talking of Leslie, I have now found
