  • Re: New Setup

The audio switching is a mechanical type that switches RCA type audio and video signal. Doesn't seem to distort the audio at all. It is low level signals so nothing fancy here. I think I paid someway around $30usd for it. The HDMI switch is an amplified electronics switch with remote. Also around $30usd. I like iTunes for the reason I can line up a days worth of music and let it play in the shop whilst I work. I have ripped a ton of my CD's and record to iTunes just so I can pick and choose

  • New Setup

After acquiring a complete 5000 system I decided to redesign my entertainment system. Since we have over 3500 songs on iTunes I incorporated the computer into it this time. I am building a new cabinet/shelf setup for it and will send pictures of the setup when it’s done. This is the basic wiring sheet for the setup. I have two directions for the computer to go since I want outside music even if the Beomaster 5000 is off. It’s all hooked up now but it’s spread all over the floor

Well it is the belts. Apparently the belts I bought were slightly off. The counter advances and the tape plays but there is a LOT of wow/flutter. I watch a 1500 tone bounce all over the place then the deck shuts down. I'm looking for better belts now.

  • Re: Poor men and tangential turntables - is it sustainable?

You could always hope for a spot of good luck. I managed to get a Beogram 8002 W/MMC3 for $20. Guy did not know what he was getting rid of. Spend a couple of hours and maybe $80 on it. (Caps/Belt) It in great but not perfect shape but it sounds almost perfect and will after the cap swap.

  • Beogram 8002 parts

I have asked Dillen and Leslie this already but.. I am looking for the backplate that support both cover on the Beogram 8002. This one has all of the tabs broken off. Any leads? Rick

Yes. The counter advances when it does play. I just replaced all three belts. Could there be an adjustment that's out? I'm going to reference the service manual for that. It was working great with the new belts for over a week now. It seemed to coincide with the no load adjustment of the amp but everything else works. Rick

  • Beocord 5000

My Beocord 5000 went weird on me this weekend. It will only play about 5 seconds then it causes the whole system to shutdown. If I play my 8002, CD50, Radio, or TV though the system never shuts down ( use to before the adjustements). It sound perfect for the few seconds it is on, then ... I'll be opening it up tonight but anyone have a clue? Could the Idle current settings cause just one unit to start a shutdown?

I will be placing the second set in another room and maybe a split system with a third set for outside. I will need to find a good speaker switch system (or build one) I only want 4 speakers active at any one time. I'm looking to buy the RL60.2 speakers for one room.
