• BeoPlay A1

Hello, Friend bought a new A1 and it sounds bad. Distorted sound. Not pirate copy from China. B&O refuses to replace but made it after several tries, the new one sounds just as bad. He already have a several year older A1 just like me and that one and mine sounds much better. It seems like they changed something but B&O say it’s the same, however it sounds like it’s something broken or changed. The app and firmware doesn’t make any difference either. Anyone else notices anything like this

  • Re: A wild thought: BL5 2.0 vs BL8002 5.1

Depends on what you prefer and how you want the room to look like. I think stereo sound is often quite ok but dialogue is better from a center speaker. I think your current setup with a good bass speaker sounds good. Beolab 5 is aging too although a cool high performing speaker. You would get good sound but you already have pretty good sound. And in surround.

  • New Apple TV puc

Guys, I just reassembled my V1-40 and I’m updating my Apple TV 4 connected to it. I realized after iOS 13 that my other tv (Avant 55 with Apple TV 4K) was unable to automatically wake Apple TV anymore. So I was curious and first saw an update to my Apple TV PUC. But! I then went in to sources and reinitialized the configuration of that port and chose to search online by brand and then found there’s a newer profile for Apple TV 4K running iOS 13 (actually it’s tvOS but let’s not be picky). Updating

  • Re: Beolab 4 repair , fix it, bin it,It's worth it ??

Hey guys! Interesting thread! I have a V1-40” where one channel suddenly was distorted on higher volume levels. It’s the left tweeter. I took the unit apart and found the three speaker setup uses two custom icepower boards each with two 32W amps. One board utilizes just one channel. The left board where the issue lies uses just channel “100” closer to the board edge on the output port side. I was thinking about trying to switch it to use the other channel and thereby relieve the issue entirely (hoping
Hi i think...it's 85% the same as BL4 or BL4000NK2 board try to check resistors closest to M3307 / 8pin chip and check 2 mostet transsitors in the same area. If that is ok..check all resitors in the board.
Hello Marexy, What do you mean with check them? I found that the PCB is called "35" or 8004783 anad that the Beovision 11 has the same boards. It seems to be an iteration on the BL4 and BL4000mk2 amps. I would like to try and change to use

I managed to make it work! I measured all the pins and some other things to figure out what they do. Then I simply switched pin 1-11 and 2-10 on the input. And moved pin 1->3 and pin 2->4 on the output to make use of the input and output that was before unused. It seems to work perfectly! I’ve been doing some tests and it all is fine and sounds lovely. Why the other amp channel started distorting is something I will leave for now and I’ll re-assemble the tv again tomorrow after some more tests

  • Re: Beolab 9 or 18

It’s a good solution but only sound from the CD will pass that way. AUX and FM is analogue only.

  • Re: New B&O boss

Regarding the student jobs. I’ve seen that B&O has been VERY open to student collaboration and fun for many years. It’s a part of the culture to help students and the university world get their hands on experience working with design and software. Nothing new and not to get free work. It’s usually the other way around. Let them get a chance during studies and then hire them when they graduate.
