  • Re: BeoLab 50

Hej Martin. All the issues I experienced were getting the speakers to accept and lock on to my internet connection. It took 2 weeks of all the hours in the day plus advice from my dealer, the internet provider, friends and B&O directly. Eventually, Hey presto, they connected! By just repeating the procedure I had been following all along! Since then, they have never lost connection, not once. The master and slave talk to each other with no issues. No strange poppings either. So I guess I may

  • Re: Crowd-sourcing a history lesson about volume control

My old BM5500 and MCP 5500 used to deliver loads of power in the first 1/3rd of it's volume display. So much so that I rarely had it approaching 1/2 way. On the Beomaster 18/60 was always a good, fairly loud level. 24/60 was very loud and 28/60 was as much as I would ever need. On a BM7000 it couldn't be more different. We now go up to 78 but 26-30 is always needed. To get loud I need 48/78. It was very noticeable to me such that I referred it to my dealer at the time. He informed me that

  • B&O MMC1-MMC5

As a historical owner of B&O turntables I have a question?... Whilst, in my opinion the more expensive turntables of their time were probably a little better was this just down to the cartridge? MMC 2 with the more expensive tables versus MMC 5 with the less expensive. The mechanics of the turntable appeared to be identical? I am talking 80's 3000-7000 here. I believe the 4000 was maybe????? a little better? If so were B&O charging extra just for a 7000 badge rather than a 3000 badge

  • Beolab 50 gone walkabout!

I have Beolab 50 wirelessly connected to Beovision 11-46-4. Or.... I did. As of today the wireless connection has been lost and when I try to connect there is no Beolab 50 in the menu! All other speakers yes, up to Beolab 90 but no 50! brilliant,at 1000 quid, at 23000 quid I despair at this company’s future!

  • Re: BeoLab 50

Hi Martin just to interject... I have 50’s and have had problems. Connection is a huge issue. I would suggest put it in the hands of the dealer. I am sure I have lost 5 years off my life dealing with this issue myself!!! But we are there now and I have to admit that I adore these speakers. Forget 5’s, they cannot compare. 50’s are in a different league. They are so musicable and turn every bad recording into something listenable. Where are you? I am close to the Capital if you want

  • A brilliant suggestion for Mr Bang and Mr Olufsen...

A friend of mine recently visited and despite the plethora of B&O in my house left unimpressed! Nothing to do with sound quality. He openly admits he could never hear the difference between a £400 Stereo and anything else. No, what got me was his ignorant comment that he thought disappointedly that the TV stand position automatically followed the position of the remote control. What a brilliant conception? If this were possible, (what isn’t) I reckon I could make the 1st sale! Come

  • Re: My Beomaster is getting very warm in standby.

Thank you for your comments Martin. Just to add..... 2 hours later and it’s all gone cool! It performs exactly as it should, there is no issue there. Could it be a faulty busbar feeding all 5 units? Beosystem 7000 and a R2R. Additionally on the PowerPoint is one Beolab 50.

  • My Beomaster is getting very warm in standby.

I have just moved thing around a little and noticed how warm the heatsink is on my 7000 even though it hasn’t been used for 2 days. It is just left in standby. I have never noticed this before. Am I going to be faced with losing my beloved soon or worse even? ’feeling worried.
