'Having already found myself the victim to out and out liars and theives (StuderSweden) in the vintage Hifi game 2 years ago I am now extremely worried that it has happened again? This is exactly the initial events of what happened previously! i am very close to making a Police report!

Does anyone have any idea what is happening right now at Tonabnehmerservice? I sent Franz-Josef 3 cartridges for rebuild and he has gone completely silent on me!!! No response to 2 emails. I am now fearful that I have lost these cartridges?? I am really sad to report such poor service. Any ideas?

Regardless, all I am asking is for conformation that he has received the cartriges so i can relax and not rely on the post insurance. To not respond to that is not acceptable? Just say "yep, got them." How difficult is that? FJ, if you are reading this you need to up your game?

  • Re: Beogram 4002/MMC20EN + Phono Preamp Discovery

Hmmm yes but... The output of the Beogram is way weaker than the Beocord and CD. Why would that be? All my Beograms have been like this. Traditionally the record deck gave the most powerful output. But not with B&O. It needs a kick up the backside!

Hi Andrew. That is quite interesting. After my youth with Japanese turntables and Shure cartridges I have had a succession of B&O units and now have a 7000 system with Beogram 7000. ALL the B&O turntables I have found to be lacking. The output is just too low. Now I wonder if it would be possible to bypass the inbuilt pre-amp on the 7000 and use another??

  • Re: One for Geoff?

A big thank you to Geoff for such a detailed response. I did not expect that. Whilst I love your analagy with gearboxes I immediately thought of the DAF Variomatic. That didn't help. So my understanding is that a proportional variance would not be possible but many many "inbetween" positions would, in theory, bar the fact every one would need a new filter? That does make sense to me and my original "simple software update" comment does seem a tad ignorant now. But I'll

Not a mixture but the ability to move proportionally from one to another.

  • One for Geoff?

It was about 4 years ago I auditioned the Beolab 90. Notwithstanding the sound quality I was a little surprised that the wide/narrow sound format was one or the other. Subsequently I purchased the Beolab 50's and of course it is the same. I have had the 50's nearly 3 years now and can appreciate the broadness and spaciality of the speakers in wide mode along with the detail and finess in narrow. But I cannot help feeling that it would be a huge benefit to have the option of varying between

I have a Core and would love to control it with Beo4 but I don't think it is possible. BM1 yes but not IR controllers. I think?

  • A horrible nasty question?....

As unpleasant as it is I have to ask if anyone knows?.... with the likes of BL90 and BL50 getting to a few years old now there will inevitably be failures, presumably of the ICE amps/drivers. How would I know that a driver has failed? Is there anything within the app to tell me or would it just be down to my ear to hear a failed unit? Additionally on a personal note I ran from BL5's to 50's because of the many stories of chaisis failures. Are there any such stories with 50's or 90's
