• Re: B&O Stage on YouTube

You are absolutely right, I am also uninformed about their media strategy and the reasons they have to withhold their products from video reviewers. But for a long time I have been annoyed by the lack of "independent" video reviews of B&O products. The only exception might be Steve and B&O of Manchester and they are hardly independent (no critique! Much love and support to them) So I guess they probably do not give sample units to anyone even if they ask, like Andrew Robinson. Looking
In one way it adds to the credibility of the review somewhat.
From a consumers point of view, maybe. But shouldn't the marketing department be more concerned with getting eyeballs on the products? Buying thousands worth of equipment for the privilege of reviewing B&O probably isn't a good proposal to someone with a vast audience. They are probably way more comfortable with print media, but I don't think that that is getting people in stores nowadays

I was straight up shocked to hear that they don't give review units to professional Youtube channels like his. That is unbelievably irresponsible marketing management!

The Beolab 7-4 is also pretty affordable now. Especially when bundled with a BV7-32 MkI More compact and with an acoustic lens like the Beolab 3s.

  • Re: Beosound 1 (old) PCB2 - power unit wanted, please help!

Mine was in a powersurge due to an defective power outlet. (the seller said the same outlet killed her laptop charger soon afterwards) Changed it for a DVD 2 MKII PSU and it worked again. BUT: For some reason the IR reception was also damaged. Same thing happend to another member if I remember correctly. So if you want to use a remote the Display/IR board probably has to be changed also. Good Luck

  • Re: Non BO subwoofer with Beolab 8000

Thank you, Jeff! Good to know that this setup "should" work! I really think that I bought a broken Sub. After listening and trying a few times I noticed that its (low) volume is inconsistent and sometimes it buzzes in various ways. Probably some bad capacitors in the amp, not sure if its worth fixing, bulky and ugly as it is. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Here is a quick diagram of the cabling layout i used. The BL8000s work absolutely fine with this setup. I tested the R/L chanels. Both seem to work ->subwoofer works (quietly) with either one of them disconnected.

Hey trackbeo, Thank you for your reply! Maybe I should have phrased the question differerently, tbh. -> I was wondering mainly if powerlink signals were for some reason to quiet/weak for usulal line input on (working) equipment of other manufactuers. <- I have not yet tried to connect the sub to a proper amp, but I connected the line level input to my smartphone the other day. It was louder than over Powerlink, but also rather unimpressive. I guess my luck with the classifieds had to end at

  • Re: Non BO subwoofer with Beolab 8000

Hey Guys, I also wanted to improve the low end of my BL 8000 without spending 1000€ on a 15 year old sub. I bought a sub second hand to test the setup. I have a similar (test)setup over Powerlink, but my subwoofer seems kind of quiet, bit dissapointing tbh. My setup is the following: -Beocenter 2 -2x Beolab 8000 -1x Boson Accoustics Subwoofer ( HPS 8Wi ) 2 PL-Y Adapters 1 PL-RCA Adapter It seems that the line level coming from the Beocenter over PL is too quiet for the subwoofer to be effective
