• Re: Using 2 Beolab11 with BeoLab 3
Overkill
I agree. Also, I don't find the 11 and 3s being a very good match. I use my BL3s with one BL11, the 3s connected to the output of the 11 and the 11 to a Core, and to me it sounds like the lowpass filtering in the 11 removes a bit too much for the 3s – it sounds like there is a quieter gap between the lower and the mid bass. I guess thing would be better if a Beovision was used, but based on my experiences I would not recommend the BL3

  • Re: Apple TV Question

Maybe you won't gain anything when it comes to picture and sound quality, but content-wise the atv4 & 4k are totally different beasts compared to the older models – really good streaming apps and also good media players such as Plex if you have a media server in your network. Regarding Mac mini: I bought a Mac Mini and an AppleTV 3 in 2013 and connected them both to my TV. The Mac Mini got used in the manner that Calvin describes, but after I upgraded to an AppleTV4 the Mac Mini hasn't

  • Re: When would you give the Bang&Olufsen App 5 stars at App Store? - A wish list

Yes, option 1 is what Glider does and it seems to be working fine. If there are satisfying and well-documented APIs, option 3 should be the way to go, but I don't know if there are. If not, I'd like B&O to go for option 1 – dlna is well supported amongst servers, and by using local caching in the receiver/client at least some of dlna's shortcomings can be avoided. ...but in any case, please give us a scroll bar or quick-jump functionality :)
The content one sees is the content your DLNA server collects dependent on its/yours setting. If you set your server right you will have no issues with the app. So in my opinion the app works as supposed, it works good!
If you have a large library you'll want a 'search' function, and that's afaik something that needs to be done in the DLNA receiver/controller – ie the B&O app. So, search functionality and the regular iOS scroll (as

DLNA support seems unlikely to change i.e. remain very basic / unusable.
Try different music servers (with the appropriate settings) and see for your self what happens,
Thank you! I just installed Twonky, and yes - it's a substantially different experience compared to Plex. I'll explore various dlna servers to find which one I prefer, and use Plex only for video (using the excellent app for the AppleTV).

  • Re: When would you give the Bang&Olufsen App 5 stars at App Store? - A wish list

I'm not a heavy user – until two weeks ago I only used it for controlling my kitchen V1 while being away from the regular remote, but since two weeks I also have a Core and I now use the app for controlling music played via DLNA from my plex server. I have a quite large music library, and I find it tedious to navigate to the music I want to hear. My main issue is the missing scrollbar in the Artist view, as it os is now I need to scroll and scroll and scroll instead of just touvching"P"

  • Re: Beo Core to Samsung TV
I have a client with a similar setup. If connected via Optical, the only volume control will be via the Core? the client wants to control volume from the TV remote, a 3.5mm is the other option?
That depends on the TV. My the volume control of my Samsung does not affect the optical output, so in that case the Core's volume control is the only option, but other TVs may have different features. So analog 3.5 is the safest bet if volume control from

  • Re: Beogram - how do they stand up now
Since a turntable is a combo of drive system, arm, and cartridge, with the arm cartridge combo being particularly prone to working well or not working well together, that's about all you can do. But one thing that to me sets the Beograms in their own class is their isolation and immunity to vibration and feedback. If you live on a concrete floored home, not as important, but on suspended wood floors...makes a huge difference. I have lived in apartments where you
