In my experience of buying B&O over 30/40 years, seeing something in store in the flesh has often made me like it more than I expected based on pictures. For example I fell in love with and bought BL18s when I saw them in store, but hadn’t been that impressed with pictures. But as far as i can recall I’ve never seen a product in the flesh and thought it isn’t as good as the pictures. As for those saying “I’m going to get one” on
Still I am looking forward to what people think, once they have experienced, seen, heard the BL28 properly setup in real life. MM
...and when it comes to sound, I agree. Ok, as someone else also mentioned I'm also a bit sceptical regarding the "small woofers in small volumes and lots of DSP compensation" principle, but I know that I might find the BL28 to be a great speaker. I'll have to listen to it to know, and I hope I'll like
But you haven’t seen them in the flesh how can you judge?
While the AR app does not do the surfaces etc justice, what it shows is of course enough to decide whether you think it is a balanced design or not. The window photo alone shows me that the design is much to busy for my taste – there is so much going on in that design, in a way it's the total opposite to the very clean design of the BL8000 even though some basic shapes are similar. Of
Of course you need to see it in real life. Otherwise you are just guessing.
Errrm, no. I don't know, maybe you are one of those who are unable to judge these things from photos, but I am not.
Then you are lucky that you can simply buy products from pictures and never have to visit a store to see what things look like in real life.
Is the BL28 going to transform itself to a more simplified design when I enter the shop? Will the black 'spine' disappear? Is the base going to shrink? Please enlighten me.

  • Re: BM 7000 not changing source output

My guess is that your cable actually connects your Alexa output to the _output_ of the aux socket instead ot its input, to the wrong pins of the DIN plug. That would explain the behaviour that you have observed – feeding a signal into an output often lead to that behaviour, and since the CD socket lacks output that would explain why it doesn't "work" with you cable.

Ah, Dillen beat me to it – and he also explained using fewer words :)
Ortofon? Soundsmith?
My brain wants the possibility to use any cartridge, but my heart says it would be too ugly. Designing a custom cartridge would probably very expensive and most certainly limit the choices that the user kan make. Maybe Ortofon could deliver a solution based on their OM and 2M series? If so, a stylish custom housing can be made while the styli (ie the expensive part) would be the standard Ortofon OM styli. SInce the different styli in the
