  • Re: BS5 Encore + Synology DSM4.1 : impossible to scan library

Hi Marc, Interesting problem which seems to be linked to the DSM 4.1 (unfortunately, I upgraded my Syno to this version yesterday but I do not have an Encore at this time). Have you checked your settings in the DSM, one of the changes made in 4.1 is related to the built-in firewall? http://www.synology.com/releaseNote_enu/DS212+.php?lang=fre Kind regards, Yann.

  • Popping Beolab 5

Hello Beoworlders, My beloved Lab5 show a strange behaviour since a few weeks. When turning off the system, the discrete relay "clicks" are replaced by huge "pops". It also happen from time to time when I use the AV.. command. You have all guessed that I need help, or at least a few tips to test what's happening. The nearest dealer is 100 miles away, so I would prefer to be sure it's not a problem that I can solve by myself. Thanks by advance and kind regards, Yann.

  • Re: Should I replace a BV9 with a BV11 55?

Hi, We have the same setups (except than my auxiliary TV is a BV10) and share the same concern!! IMHO, the + of BV11 are - Larger connectivity, - Access to the Internet and widgets - Opening on the IT world, - First step to the new NetLink system The -: - Only product of the NL ecosystem with a limited acces to existing ML network. - Sound: is BV11 able to match BL5? The¨+ of BV9: - Sound: the ATL internal speaker matches the BV5 - Vision: Plasma screen have a softer image than LCD. The - of

  • Re: Popping Beolab 5

Hello, I come back after some testing: I did not really noticed when the problem appeared, nothing has changed in my setup. BL5 are connected to BV9, settings OK (same on BV and Labs). They are not earthed (by design, the power plugs do not have an earth connexion). Only one BL5 is affected, The default appears with or without SP/DIF, either on audio or video sources. I changed the Powerlink cable, the default remains. If I switch the systen off after a short time (5/10 minutes), no "pop"

  • Help needed from Beo6 wizards

Hello, Since a few days, my Beo6 shows a strange behaviour. If I touch an icon on the screen, the highlited icon is an adjacent one, as if the screen calibration was wrong. I did not make any change in the configuration and the default mostly happens on the upper rows of the Beo6. Is there a way to re-calibrate the touch screen, or could it be a hardware failure? Kind regards, Yann.

  • Re: Integrating Playmaker into Master Link setup

Paging Millesen. Hello dear friend, I have exactly the setup described in your article in the Danish forum, plus a Beo6.. How do you search the music stored in the NAS (mine is à Synology too) using a B&O remote? Do you think that the wireless function of Beo6 could be used? If not possible, which application could I use on my i device, knowing that I do not want to turn on a computer to get music? Kind regards, Yann.

  • Re: Beolab 3s & Playmaker - new user report, plus tech details re Playmaker + Linux, Skifta etc.

Hello! I'm on the way to add a Playmaker in my Master Link sytem, which also includes a Beo6. Is there a way to search the music in my NAS and display album artwork on the Beo6? To Millemissen, I saw more negative than positive opinions on PlugPlayer in the french appstore, especially about the fact that this app is not updated since a long time. Are you fully satisfied with it? Kind regards, Yann.

  • Re: Beolab 3s & Playmaker - new user report, plus tech details re Playmaker + Linux, Skifta etc.

Millemissen, We have a very similar system. Mine contains a BV9 as master, connected to a BC2. Several link rooms, including a Beolink PC2 in the study. For the time being, an Ipod is connected to the BC2 aux-in. My music is stored on a Synology NAS with DSM 4.1 in WMA Lossless format. My wish: replace the Ipod by a Playmaker and read the music stored on the NAS in all rooms. NAS and computers are on a router, Ethernet + Wireless. I read the post you mentioned, Google translation to french is nearly

  • Re: Beolab 3s & Playmaker - new user report, plus tech details re Playmaker + Linux, Skifta etc.

Millemissen, According to these informations, adding a Playmaker to my setup is the way to go. All my CDs are ripped in WMA Lossless since it is the highest quality supported by Beoplayer/BeolinkPC2 installed in the study. If necessary, converting the files to FLAC or Apple lossless is only a matter of computer-time, so not a real problem. As my main speakers are BL5, I guess the improvement will be noticeable when compared to the Ipod solution. Thanks again for your kind help, and merry Christmas

  • Re: Wiring up an LC2 as a Wall dimmer

Hello Chris, LC2 has 1 input for Live and 1 input for Neutral. At the other side are 2 outputs to feed the lamp (Live and Neutral too). So you need 2 wires of each type. In addition to the 3 red wires connected to the dimmer, I see 3 black wires in the inwall box, so my guess is that you have the required cabling. I suggest that you ask an electrician to check this.. Happy new year and kind regards,
