  • Re: Playmaker refuses to connect to TimeCapsule

Hi, this might be encryption related. This may have changed in recent years but back when I was running both windows and macs Apple devices could connect with a simple password, however non apple sometimes need the full key to connect. Back then, you could get that form the admin software of the time capsule if I am not mistaken. Cheers JK

  • Re: B&O Audio Strategy; bye bye non-digital media

For one, there are plenty of used 9000 in the the market. I keep my 9000 and BC2 around but embrace digital. There are still ways to get LPs today and there will be a way to get CDs. The argument of loss of quality will go away, just like people download HD movies up from standard resolution similar thing will happen for music. I am quite happy that B&O is catching up and am certainly eying bS5 Encore (updates?) and whatever happens with Beoplay inclusing that new pizzabox thingy ...

  • Re: The Playmaker is now official!

I am using airplay for a while with an ATV. If for example I surf the web and start something with sound on the ipad, like an embedded video, it will interrupt the airplay streaming. This I believe would not happen with the playmaker. The Idevice purely acts as a remote, not as a streamer. am I correct?

Interestingly we bitched for yours that bo is not open, limiting us with their single aux and sinle hdmi approach. This to me is a good start, they just need to bring out their own app. In regards it beeing ugly, most would just stash it away, its only relevant to be shown if you have no Bo soundsystem. Only thing annoying is the missing masterlink.

  • Re: BeoLab 3

You will actually find that many computers have crappy line out sound quality. This is where the playmaker fits in that should come out soon. If you use iPhone/Itunes and can use Airplay that might be interesting for you. The Beolab 3s are a blast, I have them for a few years now with a beolab 2 and they still amaze me, in fact I might buy a 2nd pair. JK

JK

  • Re: Beosound 5 encore disappointment

I think doing something with a touchscreen was actually explored but nixed due to the fingerprints issue. While I have issues with the BS5 or BS5 encore that prevents me from buying it, i.e. gapless playing with formats that work on a mac, the missing touchscreen is not one if them.

  • Re: Beovision 10 Sale

What people almost Lways forget is that US prices are net, in Europe if I am not mistaken on average 20% tax are included. 2nd, if Iam not mistaken the US TVs come without TV tuner, so it might be cheaper to produce. I do agree though, tha t buying most things at this point in the US is cheaper, I am German living in the US and rarely shop when back at home. Cheers JK
