  • Re: Differances between the playmaker and apple tv?

The playmaker runs on and old networking standard, has a decent analogue to digital converter, you get a pause/play button, basic support for Beo 4 even without Beovision/puc. lastly it can establish its own wifi network, something ATV can't do. With current Beovision I would prob go Apple TV. With my BV 8 I found though that the sound is not as great if I go from TV to connected Beolabs 3 versus connecting the speaker straight to playmaker. I am very happy with mine.

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore Version

I second the playmaker / itunes / iphone / ipad solution. Reasonable price, for me it works, I have itunes store, spottify. I can even watch a video on my mac and stream the sound to the speaker with MACos 10.8, it somehow syncs the sound to the video. There are plenty of nice looking 3rd party apps to organize music . I like the ability to just use my iphone to stream more and more. A dedicated Ipad as a player somehow makes most sense to me these days.

  • Re: Playmaker v Apple Express

Hi, I was just pondering the same decision and settled on the playmaker. What I don't like about it is, that it is not supporting wifi N standard but only the older B&G ones. I think some older network routers can be slowed down by it, i.e. it impacts all devices on the network. Not sure if that is true, but that was a recommendation I heard at some point in time when I made the move to N. That said, having the ability to control the volume on the playmaker is nice. When streaming from Ipad

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A3 will not support lightening contact!!!!

It may not make sense for them to do that. I am not sure if the A3 is a huge seller like the A8 is. Note that most existent user still should get a few years out of their product. Interestlingly these guys copy the idea of the A3 and ehile its not even out you ony get 30 pin .....

  • Re: A9 to arrive in store on Monday ;-)

I didnt care too much for the wooden legs but it seems it can be wallmounted. Sound is incredible ....... It has a decent sized sweet spot, I sense most will not miss that its a single stereo speaker ...... Airplay worked nicely, that is for me the way to go ...........

  • Re: Beosound 8 on Ebay offer at £479.99!

    5) Reduce inventory to introduce version supporting lighning connector out of the box. They do an adapter but question is how that will change the look, probably not for the better. JK

  • Re: B&O PLAY will soon launch a new premium product

To those who ripped the A9 apart, be patient. You can't see much on the picture. I would think they offer alternatives to the wooden legs hust like they have alternate speaker colors. Maybe there is a floorstand. To me this makes sense, let's wait for the offical price announcement, 1700 pounds seems upper end but who knows, if it is DLNA and Airplay that might work ...
